Every morning I pray the following:
Heavenly Father, Lord God Almighty:
Thank you for this beautiful day. Thank you for the sunshine. Thank you for the fog, and thank you for the rain that you send our way. Thank you for clean air and clean water. Thank you for the garden. Thank you for the birds and all the animals - especially our kitty Diamond. Thank you, Lord, for life.
Thank you, Father, for my husband and for our families. Thank you for our children and our grandchildren. Thank you for our parents and our grandparents. Thank you for my sisters. Please help me, Lord, to be kind and generous and loving to every member of my family and my husband’s family.
Heavenly Father, Lord God Almighty:
Thank you for guiding and protecting us. And thank you for providing for us. Thank you for loving and forgiving us. And thank you for redeeming us. Thank you for our Faith. Thank you for Pope Francis and for Pope Benedict. Please, Lord, guide, protect, and bless them. Please bless Pope Francis with long life, good health, great vitality, and an awareness of how much he is loved by people throughout the world,
Heavenly Father, Lord God Almighty:
Please stand watch over the USA. Please protect our people and our leaders and guide us as a nation away from all the dark possibilities and towards the good.

Heavenly Father, Lord God Almighty:
Thank you for the many, many blessings that you have bestowed upon my husband and I and upon every member of our family. Please help us to be good stewards of our family. Help us, please Father, to bring them together and to bring them to you. Help us also to be good stewards of all the resources that you have given to us. Help us to improve them and to grow them according to Thy Will.
Please grant, Lord, that my behavior will be a reflection of Your love, Your peace, Your Will. I trust in You Lord with all my heart. I lean not on my own understanding. In all things, Lord, I acknowledge you. Please, Father, continue to direct my path.
Come Holy Spirit, bestow upon this family, this nation, and this world the Peace of God.
All of this I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ Your Son and our Savior.
Amen
In the evening I pray the rosary asking the Holy Mother to pray for my intentions having to do primarily with the physical and spiritual health of family and friends. One of my grandsons (who was four at the time) suggested that we pray “for all the babies in the world.” At the time I was concerned about an acquaintance’s baby who was failing to thrive. Since my grandson’s suggestion, I have included in my rosary “all the babies in the world” who are failing to thrive. Ironic to me is that in teaching my grandson to pray, he taught me a prayer.
