Offering reparations for souls in purgatory

Is making physical reparations like praying the rosary in the hot sun or fasting while praying for souls in purgatory suitable for those souls. Will these discomforts help extra for the poor suffering souls in purgatory? Thanks!

Why not just earn the souls in Purgatory a Plenary or partial indulgences. That’s what I do.

You include the Rosary, if said in a church, do you have a Rosary group? Or reading the bible anywhere for half an hour, or Adoration for an hour. Along with Sacrament of Reconcilliation, and communion, and the intentions of the Pope.

Sone people have done these types of things. You have to be careful with hot sun though because it can be life-threatening to you. The Fatima children wore scratchy rope around their waists to offer reparation, but no one ever died or went to the hospital from a scratchy rope. People have died from overheating in the hot sun, however. Even a fast can be dangerous depending on your medical history and how severe it is. I have issues sometimes with passing out when I fast, which could kill me if I am driving a car or fall down and hit my head.

I would suggest you should pick something that is less dangerous, such as giving up your coffee or earning an indulgence through charity work, etc. Physical hardship is usually best done under the care of a spiritual director and maybe a doctor.
