Hello. I apologize if this isn’t the forum for this question…

I currently pray the Lauds, Vespers and Compline using one-volume Christian Prayer, and the 2007 St. Joseph’s Guide. I can’t figure out how to pray the Office of Readings.

For instance, for today, the Guide directs you to OOR 1794. O.K. straightforward, until you get to the end of the psalmody. It says “Readings and prayer, as in the Office of the day.” Does that mean the Psalter or Common, or what? Also, the guide says Rd 1910f &1989f, which means readings on page 1910(and following pages) and 1989(and following pages). Surely you don’t read all 13 readings every time the guide indicates these pages? So how do you choose which ones to read?

I guess what I’m asking in a nutshell: is there anybody who could walk me through an example of the Office of Readings using Christian Prayer and the Guide?

Thanks in advance!

Christian Prayer only has selections from the Office of Readings. I imagine that you can choose whichever readings you prefer to do since they will almost always be different from the readings for the day from the Office of Readings.
