Could someone please provide me with a link that discusses official Church teaching on end of life issues such as the administration of food and water to the dying, life being sustained by artificial means only, the use of drugs / painkillers as a means of avoiding the pain of dying, etc.? Is everything I need to know in my Catechism? I’d prefer a link from the Vatican website, not something that is the personal opinion of a Catholic author.

THANKS!

The Catechism section under the Fifth Commandment regarding Euthanasia covers the topics you inquire about.

These CDF documents also address the issues:

Dignitas Personae

Response to certain questions of the USCCB regarding artificial nutrition and hydration. Also see here.

And see also JPII’s teaching on the matter from a 2004 speech.

And, a multitude of articles and resources can be found at the USCCB website.
