Figured it might be better to start a new thread. 🙂

So, let’s follow this format:

In your replies, copy and paste the following (and then answer the questions, obviously 😉 ):

**1. How long have you been an OFS?
  1. State in which you were professed?
  2. State that you are in now?
  3. Which branch of the Franciscans is your fraternity assisted by?
  4. Favorite 2 Franciscan Saints (I am making it 2 and no more–I want you to think about this)
  5. Favorite personal Franciscan story
  6. Which abbreviation do you like better: OFS or SFO?**
Over to you 🙂 BTW, it is absolutely OK (and encouraged) to comment on what others have written.

I’ll go first 😃
**
  1. How long have you been an OFS?** I have been involved since 1996; professed in 1998, so 16 years  (The fraternity left me for awhile…long story…but I am blessed by the group that I am with now. Saints, every one of them)
2. State in which you were professed? CA

3. State that you are in now? CA

4. Which branch of the Franciscans is your fraternity assisted by? OFM

5. Favorite 2 Franciscan Saints (I am making it 2 and no more–I want you to think about this) Francesco and Padre Pio

**6. Favorite personal Franciscan story ** In Assisi. A lady comes up to my wife and I, completely distraught. In Italian, she asked us if we could help her. Desperately. I had visions of fighting off bandits, etc. It ended up being a cat stuck in the tire well of her car. Bit of a let down. I did end up rescuing it, though. 😃

7. Which abbreviation do you like better: OFS or SFO? OFS, and by several orders of magnitude. Is this a trick question?:rolleyes:😃

  1. State in which you were professed? NY
  2. State that you are in now? NY
  3. Which:eek: branch of the Franciscans is your fraternity assisted by? OFM Conv.
  4. Favorite 2 Franciscan Saints (I am making it 2 and no more–I want you to think about this) St. Francis and St. Anthony of Padua
  5. Favorite personal Franciscan story: My first Regional retreat, when I met so many fellow Fransican kindred spirits. Our retreat was at the Mt. Alverna Retreat House in upstate NY. The retreat house is a replica of Assisi.
  6. Which abbreviation do you like better: OFS or SFO?**: OFS, the true Latin nomeclature.

Navigating site I found a social group “Fransican Spirituality”. It also has a forum going.
Any other OFS out there?

Any other OFS out there. Please take the survey. Lets get some discussion going about the OFS.

I prefer OFS to SFO which sounds too much like a corporation designation.
