I was googling St.Mary’s in Queens,NY and that came up

I couldn’t even get to the bottom of the page, it describes Mary as Catholicism’s goddess,
I don’t know why but it’s left me a bit shaken, although I know it isn’t the least bit Catholic, it’s just I feel I seriously felt the presence of something very removed from God when I saw it.

nah, it’s just new age goddess stuff-a hijacking of sorts by people who prefer their deities feminine for whatever reason. Unfortunately it serves to add to the already huge body of lies and pop mythology centered around the Church.

Yeah, just some poor mis-guided soul. Pray for them and as for the website, there are thousands of mis-guided websites on the web. That one is actually pretty mild compared to some.

why blame Protestants? they are Christians for the most part just as hurt and offended by new age hijacking of Christian images and ideas as are Catholics.

Spiral Goddess Grove…yep, that really sounds like a Protestant Church…

All those symbols are used for those who are involved in Goddess Worship.

Also, see all those names scrolling on the bottom, those are all goddess’ names.

Unfortunately, a lot of people who leave the Church and go to goddess worship, do see things this way. They also promote Mary as a goddess.

In Google, the info about the website, talked about Mary as Catholicism’s goddess, to me it just seemed like this was information on you know us, how we worship her and stuff.
I didn’t see the new age stuff.

You didn’t use Gods’ name in vain and you were right in your immediate discernment that something was wrong with the site.

If you call “oh my God” in the way as in prayer, then you are not calling His Name in vain; if you call the phrase just like so many people who call Him as a habit, then it is.

I don’t know any Catholic who believes that Mary is a goddess. That’s outrageous! The best thing to do is ignore stuff like this and pray for anyone who is misguided by this.

We definately are not taught that she was anything other than human in our religion. I love her very much, pray the rosary for her intercession and hate to see any one paint such a false picture of her.

It sounds to me like it could be new age stuff or just plain evil lies to dissuade people from the one **True Church **founded by Jesus Christ more than 2000 years ago.
