Ohio Valley Latin Mass ``

I live in the Ohio Valley of Southeast Ohio, near Wheeling, WV. Is there any Traditional Mass in this area? There is none in the Diocese of Steubenville where I live besides Steubenville, which is too far to drive for me. Any knowledge out there?

I believe threre is a Mass in or around Wheeling. It would be Fr. Leo Carley. He was ordained in 1958 and offers only the TLM. He is based in Akron area…Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel is his Chapel.

Thank you very much. Where is this chapel at? I will have to check it out sometime. If he is based in Akron, how does he get to Wheeling?
BTW, are you from there? Just curious- my dad is from there, graduated from Central.
I forgot about Our Lady of Lebanon, Maronite Rite as well.

Is he in communion with the Catholic Church or is he independent?
 
Fr Carley is an independent and is not undere the bishop of Cleveland… The is a diocesan Latin mass in Pittsburgh at St Boniface church.
 
Does anyone know if Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel in Akron is still open and if Fr. Leo Carley is the pastor? Haven’t seen any post since '08 so am wondering if the parish is still open. Also, is there an elementry school associated with the church?

Grateful for any info.

Dear daxandlena.

The church is still there, but many now to the Latin Mass at St. Sebastian’s church in west Akron, 476 Mull avenue, just off I-77. I am not sure about the school. If you want, sent me a PM and I can give you a contact phone # if you need one.
