We are advised against looking for signs, rather we must always be ready.

Sounds like speculation, in the good old fashioned economic sense rather than the Christian theological.

i think its the right time for the second coming of lord jesus.because everything has spoiled by some peace coated beast.but lord jesus only know when he will come.its up to our lord.but we just can pray to our lord.COME LORD JESUS SAVE US FROM ANTI CHRISTS.:amen:

Probably just the beginning. Not the end. And anywho, it’s just gasoline, and most of us Americans are wealthy when compared to the rest of the world. Drive less and ride together.
Mark 13:3-8:
3 And while [Jesus] was sitting on the Mount of Olives, facing the Temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew questioned him when they were by themselves,

4 ‘Tell us, when is this going to happen, and what sign will there be that it is all about to take place?’

5 Then Jesus began to tell them, 'Take care that no one deceives you.

6 Many will come using my name and saying, “I am he,” and they will deceive many.

7 When you hear of wars and rumours of wars, do not be alarmed; this is something that must happen, but the end will not be yet.

8 For nation will fight against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. This is the beginning of the birth-pangs.’

I think it is about time we get out of our vehicles and start either walking, bicycling and/or taking public transportation. I did that (started bicycling and walking) already a little over a year ago. But, I have been taking Bart to get to work for about 20 years now and notice an increase in ridership for several months now.

This single vehicle for a single person was stupid to begin with. And with our city ‘planners’ making cities that require vehicles - well, it is about time to use the old noodle and think of better ways to cart our pathetic behinds around.

I have a hard time with this thought that every time something happens that we don’t like means that this is the sign of the end. The end of the century brought all this out too. I mean - we really need to get a grip on our own inner fears. If the end of a century brings on fear - geez. It is only a way of counting time - we could have used a different system and then this wouldn’t have been an issue. Now OPEC - with muslims and commies - being greedy - brings out some more fears?! How about using our American know how!?

no its the start of the beginning of even higher, far more realistic oil prices and hopefully the beginning of serious research into lowering dependence on fossil fuels and research into earth friendly forms of power

just because some Americans are going to have to park their SUVs and ride bikes does not mean the end of the world is imminent, nor that Bush or anyone else is the antichrist

don’t worry brother sam_777 nw $135 per barrel.soon it will cross $200.because the great(?)arab sheikhs are very greedy.though they are very peacefull(who cut hands of thief)robber.they will suck people’s blood.but don’t blame them.what they will do all are correct.&what we christians will do all are wrong and bad:) in their view point.they will increase the oil price&they will blame usa for it.(in bangladesh all muslims blame usa,its funny:D)

Yeah, I agree with you. We also have some commies south of our border that we buy gas from and are in cahoots with the Iranians and hate our guts too.

None of them could pull the oil out of the earth themselves - they required us to do it - but they are now benefiting from the windfall profits. And with saudi having the biggest export of not only oil, but jihadists - we really need to get out of our vehicles.

Yes, we are spoiled brats and with all spoiled brats - there will be temper tantrums galor over this thought of alternate modes of transportation.

you see R_not?when arabs get petro dollars since then the terrorism increased horribly.actually the cause of islamic terrorism is the oil money of arabs.in bangladesh i directly met with some salafist group who r very bigot(later a part became terrorist).they always get lots of money from saudia arabia&quwaite for building mosque and madrasa.(even arabs give the salary of those ppl).later they bought arms with those arab money, provoked by arab

You are right.

the current radicalization of the muslims was started in the early 1920s. Since islam is in itself a violent movement it doesn’t take much to set it off on a killing spree. With the discovery of oil and the demand we have helped the movement along. In fact, the saudis now export wahabbism into the USA, Canada, Europe too. With europe much further along in the jihad - the citizenry there are much more lulled into socialism and lethargy though and so we shall see if they are able to get a handle on helping themselves. I really doubt it.

Islam and Nazi ties:
tellthechildrenthetruth.com/amin_en.html

The radicalization was helped along by the Nazis and then we see the results of this in the muslim brotherhoold - and the MSU (Muslim Student Association which is in our Universities and poisoning our children’s minds) is very much a saudi funded organization, wahabbism (another saudi funded movement that backs CAIR and many mosques and madrassas in our countries and the USA), Hamas and others. Al Qaeda is also tied in to these groups. Ever wonder why Al Qaeda doesn’t go after the softest target there is - saudi arabia?! They started to a few years ago and the saudi princes stopped that right away. The biggest exporters of jihadists are the saudis with Pakistan being their training ground.

And then there is Chavez in Venezuela. He is making agreements with Ahmadinejad.

I mean anyone can search the web on this info. It is all there.

You should check out the Protocols of the Elders of Mecca, the Muslims are behind everything.

I’m 59 and the availability of oil and gas for cars was questioned in the early 1960’s.

There was a graph about the supply of oil, and it was solid until the year 2005 and then it turned into a dashed line.

If the flat supply and rising price of crude oil does not suggest ANYTHING to some people, then the indications of global warming from the use of fossil fuels should.

What’s amazing is that most people in this country seem to be doing NOTHING about this. Sure, today was the Indy 500, the ultimate in our disdain of natural resources, coming and going.
(Where the oil comes from and where the hydrocarbon emissions go.)

Yes, $135 / barrel oil will be the end of many people on earth, but perhaps not us all.

Yeah, trucking firms are going out of business due to the high costs of diesel fuel. Do we need trucks for anything? Maybe…
we’ll find out soon.

I think the ‘end’ started a long time ago.

This is the usual muslim ‘thing’ - turn around what they do and blame others such as the Jews, the West, whomever and whatever so as to deflect their own deeds and agenda.

They use ‘turnspeak’ which is pretty similar as to what Stalin said - ‘say a lie often enough and it will become the truth’ (I paraphrase).

This article is very telling. The one thing about islam is that if it takes longer than 20 years - that is ok. Their koran just says to keep on doing jihad.

I thought of this a couple of years ago. I do not believe we need the numbers of trucks that we have on the roads because they should be put back on the rails. And the trucks to take things from the rails to the store would be required and that should reduce a lot of waste. And the containers could be reduced in size to reduce the size of the trucks.

the one thing that people don’t realize until it hits them is that civilizations go through major changes and that means jobs are in jeopardy. this is why education, and good old human know how, comes into play. One just moves into another area of business.

what I see are many men who are not taking education seriously. I work for a University and see the numbers of men enrolling are dropping while women enrollees are increasing. Too many think that high school, or less, is sufficient for them and they don’t realize the global market we are in along with oil problems probably making us turn another milestone in changing the way we do things.

An educated man can do manual labor when times get hard, but it is harder for an uneducated man to do and apply for higher things, if necessary.

America has great amounts of oil under its own soil. Part of the reason for the increase in oil barrel prices is the increasing emergence of a middle class in countries like India and China, where cars are being bought. When demand increases, the price increases.

The U.S. has its own wide supply of natural fuel resources: oil, coal and, lest anyone forget, natural gas–of which the U.S. has more than enough. The problem, as I see it (although I’m not an economist), is converting from an oil-based industry where companies engage in oil markets, to an industry based on some other fuel and dealing with different markets.

Good point (the underlined part).

##** It’s not easy to see why the Second Coming should be timed in order to save gas-guzzlers from having to pay more for petrol. If He had come in time to save the UK from being lumbered with our beloved ex-PM Tony Bliar  , that would have been worthwhile. **

More seriously - maybe the Second Coming is not going to happen. By the time it does, we’ll probably have evolved into something else a million years from now. It made sense in a small world like that of Palestine in the first century AD, but it’s not plausible now. Since Jesus no doubt shared the limitations of the knowledge of the men of his time, His ideas need to be re-interpreted if they are not to be irrelevant & incredible to people with a more accurate appreciation of the world & the universe.

Why? Is He going to lower the prices to under $1.50/gallon again?
