…maybe you should do some reading instead of skimming you are wrong Jesus is not present in the Eucharist rather He is the Eucharist.you are the one with the explaining to do,
You need to do some reading. You should start with John Chapter 6, then more on to the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Then when you are done with that, go to your priest and get the real deal.

You also migh look up the word transubstantiation. That is a big word but I can break it down for you. Trans means accross, or changing. Sub means under or supporting. stans means standing or being, it is a verb that can replace the copula. IA is a suffix that creats a noun of an abstract idea. Tion is a suffix that is added to say that this is the result of a verb.

What this boils down to is that fact that the accidents of the bread and the wine remain the same but the substance of bread and wine are taken away by God and replaced with the substance of Jesus. If the Eucharist remains in this state for too long, or during other miraculous times, the accidents will also start to change and the host will start to bleed and turn into human tissue. The interesting thing about this is that we actually know what blood type Jesus is. Now, I can’t be the only one that thinks that such a fact is amazing.

Having been a Methodist most of my life, I just need to tell Claudius that he’s right on point. I can’t find anything in your post that’s mistaken or off base.
As a Catholic convert for two years now (thank God!), I can remember protestant ministers telling me:

That nowhere in the Bible does it mention that we should give honor to Mary. Hmmm…really? So I suppose that when Christ spoke from the cross as he was dying, “Behold thy mother”, we should just ignore that? Should we just ignore this holy Virgin, who miraculously conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, and became the mother of God? Well, protestants do and sorry, I won’t. Christ gave his mother to all of us and no way will I ever believe He would condemn us for giving her the honor she deserves.

That communion is a just memorial service for Christ. What?? So you’re saying that when our Lord told his desciples at the Last Supper to “Take and eat; this is My Body. Then He took a cup, gave thanks and gave it to them saying, 'Drink from it, all of you for this is My blood of the covenant which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins.”, and said again in John 6:53 “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you do not have life within you.” we should just hold little memorials every now and then but not put much stock in them? I think not. As Claudius stated, those who have faith in Christ believe in His true Presence in the Eucharist, the main reason we as Catholics attend Mass as often as possible.

There are many other issues that ministers and other protestants have brought up to me but these two are the ones that lead me to the true church of Christ because these two alone were sufficient. When I began seeing the untruths, there was nowhere to go but TO the truth and that is in the Catholic faith.
Thank you for the good words. I will say that we Catholics need to become holier so that we can be the good example of Christian living to show the protestants the errors of their ways. We should hold ourselves to the highest standards so that the protestants will only be able to speak ill of us by way of lie. That will be what gets the protestants that truely are seeking God to see the truth and come to the Catholic Faith. We need to catolog all the protestant heresies and expose them for what they are so that these lies will not fool anyone who truely is looking for the truth. I pray that every sinner repents and comes to the Catholic Church to recieve the forgiveness that is freely offered. We must help as many as we can to save them from protestantism and improve the condition of the world as a whole.

I will also mention that as Jesus is God’s word, we have an excelent example in the old testament for how to treat the Eucharist as well as Mary. Look at all the honor and praise heeped on the Art of the Covenant in the Old Testament. Now the Ark was not God by a long shot but hit held the words written by God’s own finger. It also held the Manna from heaven and the staff. Now we see in our Catholic Church how God has taught us and we have listened. We treat Mary, who held the pureness of God’s word which is Jesus, in her wumb, with respect as the Ark was treated with respect. The tabernacle in the Church must also be respected and honored as it hold Jesus in the blessed sacrement, the pure bread come down from heaven. Above the tabernacle is the Crucifix, so a Jesus himself told us, When I am Lifted up. In the Old Testament, God punished with instant death the one that defiled the Ark, as it was a static electricity bomb waiting to electricute anyone that toutched it and thus grounded it. God seem to be a lot more merciful these days by not striking down the protestants who disrespect Mary, the tabernacle or Eucharist immediatly, but we know that guilt and punishment will not be avoided. It is not for us to carry out but to leave to God as we pray for their repentance and forgiveness.

Do ALL Catholics actually believe the accidents will become flesh and bleed? That is the first time I have ever heard that on this forum and I have never heard a Catholic tell me that.

It happened in Lanciano, Italy in about the year 700. This is one of the more amazing occurences but there have been houndreds if not thousands more. Many of these get reported but the Church must do a complete investigation before they will authenticate one.

The feast of Corpus Christi that we have on the Liturgical Calendar is also to commemorate another of these events.

The blood type that is always found whenever blood starts coming out of a host is AB. I don’t know how rare that is but seeing as how most of these events happened before blood type testing was invented and they all show that the blood from the host is AB, that should startle you enough to want to look into the facts of this as soon as you can.

I think it is a wonderful gift that Jesus continues to make the absolute truth of the Eucharist know to all. All the facts are there, the truth that saves is ready to be know by all mankind. I pray that we can all become holy so that we can faithfully give that truth to the entire human race.

claudius i don’t know why you are telling me what i beleive already.when i said you need to do some reading i meant my post no where in my post did i state what i beleive but rather what i was told by protestants. i was replying to the op’ question as what protestants beleive.

I have read post after post about Catholics wanting Protestants to defend their beliefs, and I think that is fair. WhoI want to hear from is Catholics who have never been Protestant tell us what you think we believe? I am a Protestant, taking RCIA classes, and I am very interested in what you think we believe. Please keep it cordial!
I honestly don’t know what the mainstream protestant faiths believe. One thing in particular which I’m very confused about is their belief in the Communion of Saints. I know they profess it, but I don’t know what they think it means since they seem to bash Catholics a lot for asking for the intercession of the saints when we pray. It seems to me they don’t know what the Communion of Saints is, even though they profess it in the creed.

…hi BeeSweet some of the ones that profess this point of the creed beleive it means they are in communioin with only faithful here on earth.i haven’t got a clue by who they think are the faithful though, meaning just they themselves in that particular church,or all who profess Christ to be the savior.

Claudius is correct again regarding the Eucharistic miracle which occurred in Lanciano, Italy. There are additional incidents which took place, including the very notable one in Sienna, Italy in 1730. This incident also has been investigated completely and has been approved by the Church.

It is very difficult for me to post in the forums because most of the time it’s like talking to someone who just wants to debate issues with you and I’m not a debater or Apologist. What it took for me was just plain and simple searching for the truth. But one doesn’t find the truth by taking someone else’s word for it. It requires a lot more than that. It requires praying that Jesus will give you an open heart and mind. And it requires researching the answers to your questions.

Claudius, because Ste. Faustina is my patron saint, I have a strong devotion to The Divine Mercy and pray the chaplet often for sinners everywhere and for all children who are dying, being abused, who are alone and suffering and those aborted. Prayer is a powerful weapon against sin and I believe, as my Priest says often, we are winning.

My favorite prayers:

“Lord Jesus Christ, son of the living God, have mercy on me a sinner”
"Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in Thee.
“Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Thine”
“Jesus, I love you, possess me”

Wow, that’s a new one to me. What type is He? This is really a fact? Where did you see/hear of this? I was always taught that transubstantiation the Host becomes the body of Christ) occurs only during that part of the Mass when the priest raises the host and says the words of Jesus, “This is my Body, this is my Blood”.

…you are right on that, claduis is refering to the miracle at Laciano,as for the part about the accidents bleeding is something he made up to enlarge this miracle.
