Ok, I am not sure how to answer this one

A child is worried about having to go to the bathroom in heaven. Do we really need to do that in heaven? We will be eating from the tree of life, right?
 
our glorified bodies will be reunited with our souls at the resurrection after the end of the world, and as we will need neither food or drink, elimination will not be an issue
 
I’m not surprised you’re a doubter if that’s your main concern!

no need for a bathroom of kitchen in heaven .

Jesus ate and drank after the resurrection, though. Did he “go to the bathroom” after that?

And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

I think this is a good question and points to the brilliant mind of children. No worries about will I fall on my knees in His presence or what will it be like to be greeted by St. Peter. No anxiety about what would I say to Moses. Just simple basic body functions. Will there be toilets? Will I need to use the toilet? So the kid just knows that eating sleeping shelter and safety are a given.

I would be curious what Theology for Beginners says about this. My musing is that because the risen Christ had the wounds from the crucifixion and he ate with the apostles, that our risen body will have regular body functions. Before Eve ate from the tree of knowledge, there was no shame so that may be something to tell the child. It also depends on the age of the child, you know a five year old versus a twelve year old.
 
the whole subject came up because of a discussion on omnipresence of God. I know it feels weird to know that God sees you when your sleeping, so to speak.
 
This kid seems pretty bright. Tell him we take the halo from above our head, hold it in front, pee into it and the pee disappears. See what he says. I guess I’m assuming its a boy, most girls wouldn’t ask about using the bathroom.
