Ok, Thomists, please settle this for me

Do I refer to the major theoligical work by Thomas Aquinas as Summa Theologica or Summa Theologiae? Every time I’ve settled on one, I hear it is the other.

Or should I give up and translate it into English, “Summation of Theology”? 🤷

I have St. Thomas Aquinas’s Summa Theologica, and it says “Summa Theologica” on the covers. I have the full five volumes.

“Summa Theologica” can be translated as “Theological Summation.”

“Summa Theologiae” can be translated as “Summation of Theology.”

The original version is “Summa Theologiae,” but since both are correct, I do not think it really matters. St. Thomas Aquinas is not going to come down from heaven and haunt you because you said “Summa Theologica” instead of “Summa Theologiae.”
