In the “Moral Theology” sub-forum I created a thread about trying to get my mother and aunt to pray the rosary daily. That’s because I’m hopeless with their situation and worried about their salvation.
My mother in particular has a heart as hard and dry as a rock. She’s pratically a protestant, reading the bible by herself, full of heresies, saying that statues are idols, that the Church was founded by Constantine, that the saints are dead. There’s even a new one that I never heard before: that praying to saints is a human political thing, a shady thing, like asking for a job or whatever. She doesn’t believe in hell and thinks that everyone will go to the Heavens because this life has already too much suffering. And she is always angry when talking about priests.
She only wants to hear what is contrary to the Church.
However, she goes to mass every sunday and really believe that the Host is the Most Blessed Sacrament and that Jesus is alive there, because in the bible Jesus says: " do this in memory of me", and in her young days, she was created as catholic in a conservative countryside town.
I’m not exposing her like this because I’m wanna talk bad about my dearly mother, but because I’m trully hopeless. I’m already praying the rosary to convert her, and even asked Our Lord Jesus Christ that may I have a chance to be on her side in the time of her death so I can pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
