Padre Pio had the gift of knowing details and events and scrutinizing consciences. As he explained it: “Through Jesus, I see and hear all – I see your soul just as you see yourself in a mirror .”
It’s also said he could scrutinize consciences.

I’ve experienced both. . . . Maybe at first I thought it was good and wanted it, but now… This just happens to me. I’m very skeptical. The earliest I can remember this happening was in school when I was like 11, and this was before I knew anything about this kind of stuff. I just knew who had sense and who didn’t, who would listen to me and who wouldn’t. That kind of thing. But it escalated in my early life. . . .

Now it’s even worse, and it’s apparently forbidden so I don’t know what to do. I’ll pray I’m able to get past these anxieties so I can sleep tonight, but an answer from a credible source would help. I can’t get to a priest tonight, but if you’s have stably encountered anything like this and know it to be good, I’ll believe even something of what I see.

This is called intuition and it’s not anything supernatural. It just means you’re perceptive about people. If you have this gift from God, congratulations, put it to good use.

If you feel your gift goes beyond that, talk to your priest.

Also, I’m not sure what your own personal abilities have to do with Padre Pio, unless you’re planning to become a priest and hear people’s confessions.
 
I was just concerned because I could relate to him and I thought it was forbidden. Thanks a lot. You have no idea how much this helps. Well the thing is it does, because I can tell by what spirit people are doing things. :< Most of the time if people are just rambling chanting something random they heard on the radio it’s not God. If they’re “just talking to themselves,” they’re praying. If you’re engaged in a conversation with someone and they’re not trying to deceive you, it’s from God.

Honestly, if it’s not from God, I don’t bother with it and just pray.

What I’ve discovered is that your life is constantly being battled against, and you need to fight with prayer or else you will start to lose, and when you start to lose it only gets worse. Prayer. Prayer is what I encountered from this, and a strong devotion to Christ and the encounter of Mary’s power.

Literally my two favorite actual things are the brown scapular and the Rosary. They’re the first thing the devil goes after when he starts to win. I should know by now, when I take the scapular off, I’ve already lost.

Secular music is so bad.

Alright, here’s what the devil does. He masquerades as your friend, something appealing, but if you’re smart enough and know this tactic, be faithful to God, then he has no power. After he’s gotten your trust he quickly introduces terrible ideas, and offers discouragement and manipulation. If you fall even farther than that, you will experience carnal sins and despair. But if you’ve said you had enough and return to the Lord, it all goes away. But he fights to keep you in shackles. He literally tries to lead you in rebellion of the ONLY good there is, and that’s why he’s doomed forever, because he wants to BE the only good, and he is not good.

Ave Maria, she’s your friend. Your best ally in this fight.

Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thing womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Pray the Rosary. Like go ahead, pray it now.

Also, Eucharistic adoration is an amazingly good wonderful perfect indispensable good.

This right here is the only mediator between God and man.

And oh, by the way, here’s why we liven in a fallen society with rampant sin and a persecuted Church with secular denominations. Ready for this? The devil doesn’t attack sin. He only attacks what is good and holy, so think of how much he doesn’t want you going to our Lord for help. Please, watch the video, pray.

But here’s the flip side. Always know how much you need the Lord, and the Lord loves you. He wants you, like actually wants you to be with him. So spend time with him.

Got Holy Water? If so, bless yourself with it . Used with faith, it is aa sacramental which can deepen and strengthen your relationship with God. If what is occurring to you is not of God, it will help to repel it.

Christ came that we might have life and life to the full. He left us peace; His peace He gave us. As much as you can, place yourself in His hands and sleep soundly.

Holding a crucifix at such times can be extremely comforting.
 
you sound like a very perceptive person picking up cues that many others dont pick up. Its like an instinct, some are born with but that is a burden in many ways or seems sometimes. however its also an asset if you abide by the occasional warnings you get…I dont think this is comparable to what Padre Pio had.

I checked to see if you were steady in your replies and looked so I could be delighted, and I was, and you are, and I’m amazed by (I dare say) how filled with the Holy Spirit you are. By the way, your relationship with Mary amazes me.

Also, yeah, I was really pushing it with putting myself next to Saint Padre Pio’s virtue. I’m terrible at venerating Saints and people. This is something I could work on. Thank you.

There is nothing sinful about using natural gifts and graces from God to understand and help others

Wisdom and understanding of others are two of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit. Using these together allow you to practice a third gift, counseling others.
