Okay....so MAY be seeing Jesus in the Host

Okay, I’m not a great Catholic at all. I struggle with chastity. I don’t claim to be holy. If I make it to heaven it will be by the skin of my teeth, and the Divine Mercy. I do, however, believe every iota of Church teaching.

Now, I seem to be possibly be seeing the face of Jesus appearing in the Host at mass during the elevation.
I sit in the second pew from the front as I take my elderly roommate who is almost blind. It’s difficult to describe. It’s like a dark face shaped smudge in the center of the host. Taking up about sixty to 70 percent of the surface. Looks a little like the Shroud of Turin. This has happened several times before. I mean, I know its Him without any miracles. It could very well be a trick of the light. I mean if I’m really seeing this, awesome. This past week the second time the host was raised it was gone and when I asked Jesus, if what I had seen had been real, boom, I could be near certain his eyes flashed back on the surface of the host for a moment. Ugh, it sounds crazy typing it out. Not sure why I am posting this. Has this or anything similar happened to anyone else?
 
Dear Layperson, I’m glad for you and it’s a blessing if so, and an inspiration.
Not sure if we’re allowed to share private revelations, so don’t be upset if you find that’s true.
Keep the joy and the blessing of what you believe is a sign of God’s love for you, regardless.
Sometimes God does share private blessings that strengthen and bless our own faith!

Friend, this is better discussed with a priest and/or a spiritual director and unapproved private revelations are not allowed to be discussed here.

I think a private revelation , something revealed to us alone, is a gift. it can be seen as Jesus drawing you closer to him because he loves you. so its your personal relationship with him.

This may seem irreverent, but I would advise you to have your vision checked as there are a couple of eye problems that could make you see “black smudges” esp. against a white object or background. Just make sure it isn’t a visual thing.
 
The mods may correct me if I’m wrong, but this isn’t the sort of private revelation that isn’t allowed to be discussed. That is for supposed seers trying to push an agenda on forum members. You are not doing this. You are simply asking if a phenomena you are experiencing is from a divine source, from yourself, or from the evil one. It’s called discernment and there is nothing wrong with trying to find the source of this vision. You can bring it up with your parish priest if it is really disturbing you, or in confession. But reading your account of it, I think you should take it as a consolation and be at peace regarding it. If nothing else, it has been brought to your attention in a unique way that Jesus is really and truly present in the Eucharist. That is a blessing. Thank Him!
 
Wild Thing, because of my health knowledge background I continue to stress a visual examination for the poster. It isn’t because I disbelieve, but know that visual problems can be kind of tricky. Peace.

Yes. I have known another person who saw His face at times during Adoration; our pastor was not concerned about it except he did advise her not to tell anybody else about it.
 
I’m not bragging–I saw the same thing myself on two occasions.It looked like the sepia-toned positive image on the Shroud of Turin. Whether it was an optical illusion, my imagination, or a special grace from God, I don’t know, but I am grateful for having seen it.

I like that you can enjoy it as a mystery without having to think you know; that is a guard against pride.
