Since I have converted to Catholicism, I have an old Bible from my Southern Baptist days and would like to give it to anyone on this site that would be willing to take it off my hands. It is quite old but in good shape. It mentions that Guten-somebody-or-other had printed it. I don’t think this book is worth very much, it has scribbling all over in the margins by some guy named M. Luther.
Just a joke,
I found the following on a clean religious jokes web site and thought it would produce a few smiles today. Every once in awhile we need to be not so serious and laugh a little.
A collector of rare books ran into an acquaintance who told him he had just thrown away an old Bible that he found in a dusty, old box. He happened to mention that Guten-somebody-or-other had printed it.
“Not Gutenberg?” gasped the collector.
“Yes, that was it!”
“You idiot! You’ve thrown away one of the first books ever printed. A copy recently sold at auction for half a million dollars!”
“Oh, I don’t think this book would have been worth anything close to that much,” replied the man. “It was scribbled all over in the margins by some clown named Martin Luther.”
