If a person has received the sacraments of Baptism, Holy Communion and Confirmation in the “old catholic church” (in full communion with the Archbishop of Utrecht) and now wants to join the “Roman Catholic Church” what is the process? To my understanding the sacraments are still valid (although illicit) due to apostolic succession.

Most likely just making a profession of faith similar to what RCIA candidates seeking full communion do when they join the Church.

Make an appointment to see your parish priest, it will be a simple and straight-forward process.

Welcome back to the Barque of Peter!

God bless,
Deacon Christopher

The Church no longer takes it as a given that Old Catholic sacraments are valid. Quite the opposite, now that they attempt the ordination of women.

The process for such a person would be the RCIA program (specifically, the form for the already baptized) at the end of which, such a person would be received into the Church, given First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.
