What do parishes usually do with out-of-date missal books?

I was considering collecting them, and so I’d like to figure out if the parish usually throws them away, &c before asking my pastor…

Sorry, I guess I should be more specific: the seasonal missalettes issued, I believe, by the USCCB–the kind you find on the pews, printed in ultra-thin paper, in church.

At one of the churches I attended, toward the end of the season (end of November), they would announce that those missalettes are free for the taking. However, you’ll probably need to ask your priest or usher if it’s okay to take at that time.

Thanks for the info, I’ll have to ask my priest about that… 👍
