I just had to bring this up.

Do you realize that for someone belonging to PETA, the Old Testament liturgy–with all the animal sacrifices–is the worst abomination that that person could possibly imagine? 😃 Just think of how they would have reacted had they lived in the time when the Temple still existed–they would have absolutely freaked out at all of those animals being slaughtered! They surely would have called God an “animal hater” (not that they don’t blaspheme God on a regular basis today).

I realize that this isn’t really in-depth compared to the other posts, but I couldn’t resist typing it.

PETA= People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

They are an extremist, radical, anti-Christian group that maintains that animals have the exact same rights as human beings. They oppose eating animals, hunting, zoos, but also much more. Even by the standards of most animal rights groups, they are extreme. They have staged many violent protests in the past, and also spew out lots and lots of lies about the beef industry, among other things. They even oppose milking cows, because they say it hurts them. They are so extreme that they actually did a campaign once encouraging people to drink BEER instead of MILK, insisting that the former was healthier for you.

And that’s to say nothing of the blasphemous things they’ve said about Christianity. They made a billboard over an interstate with a picture of a pig, with the caption, “he died for your sins. Go vegan.” That type of blasphemy is reminescent of the early days of the Church when the pagan Romans used to draw graffiti depicting a donkey being crucified, in mockery of Our Lord.

Having explained who they are, I think you can figure out why they might have just a LITTLE problem with the Old Testament liturgy. 😉
