Hi everyone, I have a copy of Reading the Old Testament: An Introduction by Lawrence Boadt. Would anyone recommend some denser and more technical overview on Old Testament which is more advanced than Boadt’s masterpiece but less specialized in individual books of the OT? Thank you!

My original post might be a little too brief, but I have actually looked into bibliographies of Old Testament introductions, only to find that many are Protestant or antiquated. I would therefore like to seek advice on this Forum regarding some newer Catholic Old Testament introductions which are more technical than Boadt’s work, and which can offer more insight into exegetical methods, Magisterial teachings, subsequent theological developments and further readings for individual books.

By the way, Medieval Exegesis: The Four Senses of Scripture by Henri de Lubac seems to be a more advanced book on exegesis, but I would like to learn about other options as well.
