Bethan, 56, lives in southern England on the same street as best friend Allie, 64.
They are on their first holiday to Kenya, a country they say is “just full of big young boys who like us older girls.”
Hard figures are difficult to come by, but local people on the coast estimate that as many as one in five single women visiting from rich countries are in search of sex.

Is this the result of the feminist movement? Is this the sort of thing that happens more frequently when sexual mores are relaxed in Western cultures? 😦

“How is that different from a man buying a young girl dinner?”

The issue isn’t feminism, it’s sexuality.

Yep, guys have been engaging in sex tourism for ages. And much more blatantly, too. It is just as wrong, even though it mostly gets a free pass from our culture. The article merely reveals how the coarsening of sexuality has caught up with women.

I agree, so many women have dropped being meek and proper and modest as God tells us.

Some people say that the reason why women are trying to become more like men and harshen they’re sexuality is because of revenge and the general laxity of men in society.

Maybe it’s the generation I come from but I have always believed that the fall into sexual depravity is a greater distance for a woman than for a man.

The woman, spiritually and physically, is the crowning achievement of God’s creation, wonderful in every way. They can profoundly affect our blood chemistry and neural networks in milliseconds, inspire us to greatness, take us to places we never knew existed and complete us as creatures made in God’s image…

…or not.

Gosh, I can’t help but think about an epidemic of “older ladies” spending their last years dealing with AIDS.

It’s Obama’s fault.:bigyikes:
Off-topic for a moment…

I’ll make this easy. Obama is increasing the rate at which babies are being killed and he is spending us back to the Stone Age. These are his fault.

The only white women he is influencing are deluded soccer moms and feminists, not middle aged Brits looking for a way to feel something in life. (Who, BTW, deserve some compassion as well)

…back to your regularly-scheduled thread…

I think that you are right. I don’t even think that most women know what being meek, proper, or modest means or why they should want to be meek, proper, or modest. 😦 In fact, I daresay that many women now think that being meek is a form of patriarchal oppresion instead of Biblical value for all people, men and women! Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land. Matthew 5:5. :o  🤷

In fact, I am not even entirely sure what the words meek and proper mean myself although I strongly suspect that I have a pretty good understanding of what modesty means. 😃 :o

I’m not so sure we need to be “proper.” That implies over concern with social rules unrelated to morals, such as not wearing white in the wrong season, or never wearing hose with runs.
But we definitely should be meek and modest. When I think of role models for women, I think of Our Lady and Mother Theresa. You can’t say they were worried about being proper, Mary risked her reputation, and Mother Theresa was persistent in getting the needs of the poor met. They were willing to go into risky situations and follow God. But they were quiet, did not draw attention to themselves, and showed love and respect in their behavior.
I feel sad when I see chain-smoking, foul mouthed older women my age. They could be a good example to others but haven’t quite got the picture. In youth it’s considered kind of funny and cute, but past a certain age it’s just vulgar.

Don’t forget though, Eve took the first bite of that apple. The way I look at it, the way sin goes, men and women are both just as likely. It’s an individual thing, not a gender thing.

Hence the “…or not.” in my post.

It is sad that women by this age have not managed to live with some dignity and self respect

I suspect they think themselves swingers while others consider them laughing stocks

There is no fool like an old fool

There was an article in the news a little while back about a huge increase in AIDS in retirement communities. Thanks, Viagara. 😦

After contending with the Devil while her husband stood there doing nothing. Eve was at fault, but Adam’s was greater.
