How much has ur trust in God increased as u have grown older?
What are some wise words u would give to young person?

For a young person: God is not an ATM where you can withdraw favors anytime you want. You have to seek Him and accept what He wills for you, even if you don’t like it.

I would say the secret of life isn’t so much getting what you want as much as wanting (accepting) what you get.

Communication is key in relationships. Keep good communication.

In a relationship, respect your partner and his family at all times, even when you disagree.

Avoid name calling, because once something is said, even if forgiven, it can never be taken back.

Do fair “fighting” with “I statements”. “I feel…sad, hurt …when you do …x”. Avoid “you” statements.

Avoid “You always…” or “you never”, avoid the word “should”, because it puts most people on the defensive.

When you do have to make a criticism, try to have a least five positives, compliments, to every negative.

Before marriage, know your partner well. Statistics show that couples that know each other longer before marriage do better. Under one year has a higher divorce rate than 1 year. Two years has even less of a divorce rate than one year. Three years has a less of a divorce rate than one or two years.

Read about relationships and qualities of good relationships. Keep learning.

In a relationship, learn your partner’s “love language”. See 5lovelanguages.com/profile/

If in a relationship, you are having difficulties, it’s okay to seek counseling and sooner is better than later.

When raising an issue with your partner, bring up only one issue at a time and stay in the present. Avoiding rehashing past issues again and again. Let those go. Avoid bombarding your partner with multiple issues at once. It can be disheartening.

Have good boundaries.

My faith has grown immensely as I’ve aged. My words of wisdom…Know, Trust and Accept God’s will. Wish I had known that 20 years ago.

Oh yes, and avoid pride. If you make a mistake, admit it and apologize if warranted and avoid that mistake in the future. Don’t be too proud to admit to a mistake. If you’re not admitting to mistakes on a fairly regular basis, pride is probably the culprit.

Don’t be too proud to admit you don’t know something. If you’re in a car, lost, be humble and ask for directions. Don’t spend hours in a car, because a stranger might think you don’t know where you’re going (when you don’t! 🙂 ) It’s okay, and good, to admit when we do not know.

Don’t be one who never apologies, never admits to a mistake, never wants to ask for help. It takes a lot of humility to admit when we’re wrong and accept correction. In the Bible, Peter once humbly accepted correction from Paul, so we’re all in good company.

Be courteous and charitable insofar as possible with everyone.

In a relationship, don’t give up your friends and interests. Keep all your friends, new and old, because they will make your relationship stronger.

When you make a mistake, learn for the next time.

Strive to make friends, because none of us is an island.

With relationships, they are like gardens that need constant attention. It’s very easy in this hectic world to lose sight of what’s most important, which is our loved ones. Make time for what’s important. Watering the “garden” would be the equivalent of giving compliments, giving gifts, acts of service, quality time, physical touch.

Try to avoid discussing issues when angry, if possible. Give yourself time to cool down but remember to go back, not abandon the issue.

Before marriage, discuss who will handle what, finances, children, household chores. Try to create a stable environment. Plan ahead for marriage. Ideally, save some money up in savings first.

NICE but what is an ATM???

God is not a Santa Claus- send a list and get what we want. Gifts God gives are better than we could demand or expect.
