Good to know. I have a clear preference for the RSV-CE over the NRSV, primarily because of the inclusive language.
 
I’m sorry. I miss understood what you said. I thought you ment that the RSV-CE and the NRSV-CE we pretty much the same translation except for a few updates based on newly found material
 
I referred to the RSV Catholic Edition and the RSV Second Catholic Edition as the ones basically being the same translstion with light edits. The NRSV is a new translation that uses updated scholarship but suffers from heavy inclusive language which is why I mentioned it only as a reference or comparison. I cannot recommend it as a primary Bible.

The recommended Bibles are the RSV Catholic Edition or Second Catholic Edition. The RSV Second Catholic Edition is not the same thing as the NRSV.
 
Ok that’s where I got confused I thought the NRSV was the second edition of the RSV

Yeah, you’ll usually see the 2nd edition labeled as RSV-2CE when searching for Bibles.
