Just watching a replay of the opening of the 2016 Olympics ,
Absolutely stunning to watch a nation showpiece its history ,
The effort taken is truly appreciated by myself and millions of others,
It’s compulsary viewing ,
Do you have a story to share of an Olympics that you participated in , in some way ?
Which Olympics is most memorable to you ?
Let us Pray that this is a truly successful games bringing humanity together ,

For myself, the Sydney 2000 Games Opening was the most spectacular

For me, our Olympics in 2012 was the best - it really was a good year for the UK. The Diamond Jubilee, followed by the Olympics, followed by news of a future King - it was a great year.

Unfortunately I missed the opening ceremonies
for the 2016 Rio Olympics, but for me the Canada
games 1991 in Charlottetown, PEI is the best!!

sigh

Women’s Volleyball is on. Oh well, I’ll check in later.

Anybody watching the Olympics this year? Looks like we’ve really got a strong team. The women’s gymnastic team is phenomenal!

My beautiful wife Helen isn’t happy,
They don’t seem to be screening much of it here,
It’s all about Swimming

Australia has a pretty strong swim team don’t they? That’s probably why they are showing so much of it there. We’ve been getting a pretty nice mix here of swimming, gymnastics and beach volleyball, so far.

It was lovely being in Sydney in 2000 during the Olympics.

The course for the marathon ran through the suburb where I lived. I went literally down the road to the shops the day of the men’s marathon, forgetting what day it had been scheduled. By the time I had done my shopping the roads had been closed off for the race, with nothing for it but for me to wait along with the ever-growing and ever-more excited crowds and cheer the runners on as they came through.

Just as enjoyable as any of the events I’d paid to see.

I enjoy all the olympics equally, although I prefer the Winter Games. I guess I’m a winter guy.

Me too, actually. Overall I enjoy the winter sports a lot more, though women’s gymnastics is probably my favorite from either. (Although I’ll be honest and say that if the American men were better I would like it more. :p) It’s amazing what these athletes can do!

NBC’s Primetime coverage looks good tonight, Swimming and Women’s gymnastics. I think Phelps and Ledecki are both swimming.
