On an evil persons radar

Good Morning-
For years I have had to have a distant relationship with some person who I know has severely evil tendancies. I no longer am in their presence because of this and stay away. I have seen them and heard them go against innocent people in the past. They laugh at misfortune of others, are cruel against children and the elderly, and I also know I am on their radar. They are filled with negativity and hate.

Everytime my husband talks or visits someone else in this family and they find out-I get injured shortly after. Once, a hot iron fell on my arm from a high place for no reason and I had severe burns. Another time I broke my ankle-yesterday, I was choking on a very large fish bone stuck in my throat, and had to remove it and punctured a tonsil. There are many more occasions like this and it always happens, each and every time.

Yesterday, I had a strong desire to wear my St. Benedicts crucifix, and did so in the morning, but it was hot, so I removed it. I did not know in advance that my husband was going to talk to a person who relays the conversation to the person. We used to think it is coincidence, but after so many, many injuries it is serious.

Bascially-my question is this-am I being superstitious or is there real danger here? Also how to I combat this if it is truly coming against me?

I’ll keep you in my prayers. here’s a great prayer to St Michael and also the St Michael Chaplet. I’m sure St Michael will watch over you.

SAINT MICHAEL
THE ARCHANGEL
St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

The Chaplet of St. Michael is a wonderful way to honor this great Archangel along with the other nine Choirs of Angels. What do we mean by Choirs? It seems that God has created various orders of Angels. Sacred Scripture distinguishes nine such groupings: Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones, Dominations, Powers, Virtues, Principalities, Archangels and Angels (Isa. 6:2; Gen. 3:24; Col. 1:16; Eph. 1:21; Rom. 8:38). There may be more groupings but these are the only ones that have been revealed to us. The Seraphim is believed to be the highest Choir, the most intimately united to God, while the Angelic Choir is the lowest.

The history of this Chaplet goes back to a devout Servant of God, Antonia d’Astonac, who had a vision of St. Michael. He told Antonia to honor him by nine salutations to the nine Choirs of Angels. St. Michael promised that whoever would practice this devotion in his honor would have, when approaching Holy Communion, an escort of nine angels chosen from each of the nine Choirs. In addition, for those who would recite the Chaplet daily, he promised his continual assistance and that of all the holy angels during life.

The Chaplet of St. Michael
O God, come to my assistance. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, etc.

[Say one Our Father and three Hail Marys after each of the following nine salutations in honor of the nine Choirs of Angels]
  1. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Seraphim may the Lord make us worthy to burn with the fire of perfect charity.
    Amen.
  2. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Cherubim may the Lord grant us the grace to leave the ways of sin and run in the paths of Christian perfection.
    Amen.
  3. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Thrones may the Lord infuse into our hearts a true and sincere spirit of humility.

Having been on an evil person’s radar I can tell you from experience nothing you do will help. We moved out of the area and the fear went with us.

So I prayed that the Lord would remove us from that person’s memory, to heal that person. Only when my attitude changed did the fear leave me.

I would strongly suggest your husband not visit this evil upon you. If he must visit family, do so only after praying and tell that family you are praying for them,and do so and pray for the person responsible for these happenings.
 
In Europe exorcists put more emphasis on curses, evil eye, etc. than the American exorcists. It is not as common here, but not unheard of. A person can be cursed by another person by God’s permissive will. There are some things you can do to protect yourself.
  • go to confession and receive the Eucharist as often as you can. Confessions can be even more effective than exorcisms. Forgive this person for anything you might resent them for or anything that they have done against you, and pray for them daily.
  • if you have received anything as a gift from this person, get rid of it. If you think this item may be cursed, bring it to your parish priest to dispose of it or bury it with prayers.
  • recite the prayer against curses which I’ll post below.
  • get a vial of holy water from a Catholic store and make use of it often- the devil absolutely hates holy water.
  • enroll and receive a Brown Scapular. Or wear a Miraculous Medal. You said you had a St. Benedict’s medal- that’s good.
  • obtain blessed salt and sprinkle it around the house- outdoors as well as in.
  • contact your priest and see if he will enthrone your home to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This is such a special, special grace to protect your family and grow in faith.
  • develop a devotion to St. Michael and your guardian angel. As someone else suggested, say the Archangel Michael prayer. There is also a consecration prayer to St. Michael- google it- it’s fairly short but effective. Say the guardian angel prayer every day.
  • turn to the saints for help- especially St. Gemma Galgani, the Blessed Virgin, St. Pio, St. John Vianney, St. Jude, St. Anthony, etc. The devil pretty much always flees from the Virgin Mary- he hates and fears her even more than God because she is a mere human being who has been exalted higher than the angels. She always comes to our aid when we call on her for help. I have always found the Memorare to be ridiculously effective in getting rid of the devil’s presence.
  • obtain blessed candles and light them when you feel oppressed.
Others may have more ideas…these are just the ones I’ve thought of off the top of my head. God bless!
 
PRAYER AGAINST EVERY EVIL

Heavenly Father, I love You, I praise You, and I worship You. I thank You for sending Your Son Jesus Who won victory over sin and death for my salvation. I thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit Who empowers me, guides me, and leads me into fullness of life. I thank you for Mary, my Heavenly Mother, who intercedes with the holy angels and saints for me.

Lord Jesus Christ, I place myself at the foot of Your cross and ask You to cover me with Your Precious Blood which pours forth from Your Most Sacred Heart and Your Most Holy Wounds. Cleanse me, my Jesus, in the living water that flows from Your Heart. I ask You to surround me, Lord Jesus, with Your Holy Light.

Heavenly Father, let the healing waters of my baptism now flow back through the maternal and paternal generations to purify my family line of satan and sin. I come before You, Father, and ask forgiveness for myself, my relatives, and my ancestors, for any calling upon powers that set themselves up in opposition to You or that do not offer true honor to Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ Holy Name, I now reclaim any territory that was handed over to satan and place it under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

(Pause and wait for words to come to you, such as: anger, arrogance, bitterness, brutality, confusion, cruelty, deception, envy, fear, hatred, insecurity, jealousy, pride, resentment, or terror. Pray the following for each of the spirits revealed.)

In the Name of Jesus, I rebuke you spirit of _________________. I command to go directly to Jesus, without manifestation and without harm to me or anyone, so that He can dispose of you according to His Holy Will.

I thank You, Heavenly Father for Your Love. I thank You, Holy Spirit for empowering me to be aggressive against satan and evil spirits. I thank You, Jesus, for setting me free. I thank You, Mary, for interceding for me with the holy angels and the saints.

Lord Jesus, fill me with charity, compassion, faith, gentleness, hope, humility, joy, kindness, light, love, mercy, modesty, patience, peace, purity, security, tranquility, trust, truth, understanding, and wisdom. Help me to walk in Your Light and Truth, illuminated by the Holy Spirit so that together we may praise, honor, and glorify Our Father in time and in eternity. For You, Lord Jesus, are, “…the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6 ), and You “…have come that we might have life and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10 ).
 
It makes sense to me,as the injuries happen within a day of the conversations, and I am not an injury prone person. I had an idea that this may be the cause.

As far as there being real danger, I think it depends on the person who’s performing the curses as well as the person on the receiving end. I’ve always been under the impression that, generally, as long as u are in the state of grace, frequent the Sacraments (communion and confession), pray the rosary daily, and do your best to do the will of God in your life, that no evil curses, spells, witchcraft, voodoo, etc. will work on you. But also another important element is fear. If one becomes very afraid of the person who’s doing the curses or voodoo or whatever, I believe that can become a sin of grave matter against God because of the lack of trust in Him, in His protection for those who are His children and doing their best to live a life pleasing to Him, and hence, God may permit the curse or voodoo to then work on the person, even though, this person may be frequenting the Sacraments, praying the rosary daily, etc…

From what I understand, there are witches who don’t particularly like my family and curse and voodoo us and myself, but I honestly just do my best to not fear any of that, and I’m pretty certain that’s probably why I don’t experience (at least from what I can tell) any effects of the voodooing or witchcraft or whatever, and just trust in the Lord. The way I see it, what reason is there for me to fear these things? I would only fear them if I knew I was living in mortal sin or not doing my best to live my Catholic faith as best as I can.

Yes, I agree Suko, and I am not afraid of this person-but I don’t want to get injured and these are freak accidents. I usually question these things, so I wasted a lot of time ignoring this.

I now believe too that if I did not do my best with living a good Catholic life that my injuries would have been worse, as I know what this person is capable as I have seen it and heard them with my own eyes and ears-when they directed it at others.

I think God has protected me and helped me last night. I had to pull a branzini bone that was hooked and two inches long out of my throat. If I did not reach it I would have been dead. I was able to do this-don’t ask me how -but I did it with God’s grace.

I’m glad to hear that u don’t fear this person. If I was in your situation, I would just continue to pray for the conversion of this person, and just trust that God won’t give u anything more that u can’t handle with His grace. God certainly may be permitting some of these sufferings to befall u, since He knows u will be able to go through it with love and patience, and offer it back up to the Lord. I’m sure, all your prayers and sufferings offered up for this person, will not go to waste.
