One of the things I have, since returning to Christ is a strong calling. Well thats probably how I returned. Thanks to God.
The Priest I go to with all my questions and problems knows this. The best advice he gives me is
We are not all called for the great things. For example Clergy (I am female), Religious life be it Consecrated - Nuns or lay orders. And to be honest there are so many lay orders, finding a separation can be confusing! Studying Uni level Theology or being EMCs. And living Saints.
My Priest says we could be called to be that help to our neighbour, (provide meals for example) pray for causes, work in charity organisations, volunteer in community organisations. There are so many options.
He recommends finding a charity or volunteer work that you might have a passion for, and offering your time or talents.
So here is a question for you, what are your talents?
What place could benefit, be it in an animal shelter, an adult learning program, a needy charity, a hospital volunteer, admin help? Knitting or sewing granny rugs? (hospitals and aged care homes go through lots of them), making chemo caps, The list is endless. Natural disaster recovery? Natural disaster sandwich making or phone manning? ( bushfires here every summer, and days like today , flooding and lots of trees down, roofs off, due to wild weather).
Is it to let people in your life know about Divine Mercy Sunday, encourage them to go to Mass, Confession,
( I ask my sisters if they are going to Mass on Sunday, they are like I was, I have sown the seed, or am still ploughing , for several people to be baptised, all gently without nagging).
Because we are all already part of the Communion of Saints, and one huge community, the more we focus on the needs of others, the clearer is our path, we start being quiet and listening. Not to mention being rewarding.
