Wow, Pope Francis is doing quite a lot of changes within the Vatican and in his key staff. Today he brought in an Archbishop from the Philippines to observe the UN as an envoy. Let us pray for Our Pope who is working overtime on doing such a heavy task. :highprayer:

Our prayers to you Holy Father Francis

By all accounts I’ve seen, this is long overdue and my be in part responsible for Benedict’s decision to retire. There’s a real difference between being an highly entrusted servant of the Church and a power broker within the Church. My hope is high that Francis can do much towards returning the mission to that of servant.

Our last 3 Popes and perhaps the 4th (I don’t know too much about Saint John 23) have seen the need to reduce Vatican Bureaucracy. Some more than others but they are on the right road and doing it together. Try to clean house in ones own home and you’ll see how hard changing people can be. 😉

One of the famous quotes from John XXIII was this:
When asked how many people work in the Vatican, he replied “about half”. 🙂

And here we thought you would leave them the number of Merry Maids or some other cleaning service. 😃

That’s true. He did say that. Our Holy fathers are aware of this need for some change.

Yeah - when I was in the seminary, we cleaned our won toilets and showers…😛
The same in the Novitiate I was in, we all had our jobs, even cooking. No one came in for anything except plumbers.
