On Giving Fraternal Correction

How would you give fraternal correction to a brother of a Catholic community who keeps on posting “fake news” in his FB account in favor of a known plunderer in our country while at the same time keeps posting bible verses. There seems to be a disconnect in what he shares. Our community is supposed to bring Christ into the marketplace and win the marketplace for Christ. Any idea?
 
I don’t know who this “known plunderer” is or what country you are in. If the person has not been convicted of a crime against the country, and does not have a general poor reputation like Mr. Kim from NK, it seems like this is mostly your opinion, not a moral issue.
 
I’m guessing you are referring to trump. Like he is worse than hillary who repeatedly denied extra security to our lybiian ambassador, the when he got killed tried to blame it on a video that had been out for over 2 weeks, and that spontaneous uprising just happened to fall on anniversary of 9/11. But yes it was totally spontaneous. You might be fooled, rest of us aint.

A good place to start would be asking your friend how they feel about Trump’s idolatry, greed, and sexual wickedness. The blatant immorality should be impossible to defend for any level-headed Catholic.
 
It’s unfortunate that some people would jump to conclusions about who you mean or even assume everything is about the USA. Sigh.

I would think simply stating straight out that you do not approve of particular actions of the Marcoses and pointing out how the main things they did are incompatible with Christian or Catholic teaching would be sufficient. Then if the person persists in his view, you can either agree to disagree, or end the communication, end the friendship, unfollow on social media, etc.

Okay I have actually unfollowed him because I get stressed out with his posts. I once commented in one of his post by giving him a fact-checkcing site to rebut what he has posted but he never acknowledged my comment and just ignored it so I had to unfollow him. But other members of our community have started to take notice and I think someone reported him to our chapter head who is not active in FB.
 
It is good that you have unfollewed him. Very wise move.
