I do, dear Brothers and Sisters!

By God’s Grace, I think of our Mother Mary every day, but Saturdays have become more special – pondering Mary our Mother in Scripture, the Mysteries of the Rosary, and the writings of Saints and Doctors of the Church.

Trying to encourage our Youth Director to look into the possibility of introducing the “Junior Legion of Mary” to our parish Youth Group, especially those preparing for Confirmation, I explained: The more we learn about the Church, the more we love the Church! Mary is our Mother and Model and Mary helps us so much!

During this 100th Anniversary Year of Mary’s Apparitions of Fatima, Reparation to her Immaculate Heart and First Saturdays became more important to me, but why limit devotion to only one Saturday a month? Sister Lucia of Fatima asked Jesus about the number 5:
It is sometimes asked why Our Lady asked for Communions of reparation on five first Saturdays, instead of some other number. Our Blessed Lord answered that question when He appeared to Sr. Lucia May 29, 1930. He explained that it was because of five kinds of offenses and blasphemies against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, namely: blasphemies against her Immaculate Conception, against her perpetual virginity, against the divine and spiritual maternity of Mary, blasphemies involving the rejection and dishonoring of her images, and the neglect of implanting in the hearts of children a knowledge and love of this Immaculate Mother. (See more HERE)
The last offense impressed me especially! Do we today have a tender devotion to our Mother that we share with our children, and all God’s children of any age? I hope we do, and that we continue to ask Jesus to help us love Mary as He does. Please, let us pray for all who are suffering without the knowledge of God and our Mother who love them, especially the young.

May we offer reparation on Saturdays for our sins and the sins of the whole world. May our hearts long to offer reparation to both the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, not only on First Fridays and First Saturdays – not only even on every Friday and Saturday, but more and more let us offer reparation to Those Pierced Hearts Who have loved us so much and receive so little in return! I’d be grateful for your comments. Thanks.
