I know it’s a sin to break the law (unless it goes against God’s law), and I know you’re breaking the law when you speed without a good reason, thus sinning.
However, is speeding a mortal sin? Are you still sinning if you’re going 1 - 5 miles over the limit even though cops would probably give you leeway (unless in a school zone
)? Also, for laws in general, are they each divided into separate categories of seriousness? I would think speeding would be much less serious than some other important man-made laws. Or am I thinking something completely crazy and instead all disobedience towards man-made laws (that don’t go against God’s will) is a mortal sin?
