Is it disrespectful to think about God or read a “religious” book on the potty?

Yaay, another chance to tell my favourite St Teresa of Avila joke!

Apparently she used to pray while using the little nun’s room (as it’s best called) … once a devil appeared to her and mocked her for praying in such an unseemly place. She said ‘what comes out of my mouth is for God, what comes out the other end is for you, devil!’

😃
 
Not to be too crude but, I kept feeling guilty for reading the forums on the potty but guess where I am now. :yup:

And actually, I’ve wondered that myself, lol. I always pray on the potty, because it’s one of the few places where I can be completely alone. It’s a good place to concentrate. TMI? 😃

The lavatory is my favourite place in the world. I consider it to be my cathedra actually, or the throne of my house from which I reign. I go on these forums and read on there all the time. Do it happily!
 
I don’t see anything wrong with it. .

You might get a few looks if you are praying out loud in a public restrooom. 😛 People may be wondering if you were praying you didn’t eat that Chinese.

Not at all. In fact, we could coin a nice little term for it.

Maybe “Going for God.” Or if we feel so inclined “pottying for piety”

After reading this thread and :rotfl:

There is another spiritual perspective to the potty room. True story. I was at O’Hare Airport in Chicago with time to spare so I did the potty thing before checking in. No one was there so I took my time…
Suddenly, from somewhere near the ceiling, there was this loud deep male voice saying: Catholic Mass will begin in 10 minutes. My first reaction was God is giving me a personal invitation and guess what I am doing!. .😃

Note: O’Hare, St. Louis and other airports have a Chapel where the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is celebrated daily. O’Hare announces times over the loud speaker. Since receiving that “personal invitation” I check my watch when arriving at an airport.

Whew!! Here I thought I was the only person that prayed while on the throne. 😃

Especially when my gut is killing me due to a Crohn’s flare or blockage. Then I really pray out loud for the agony to end.
