Acts 4:12 NAB
“There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved”

Salvation is achieved through our Lord, Jesus Christ. However, our lives should reflect the actions of our Lord as well. One can not revel in sin (venial or otherwise) and expect to receive the fruits of everlasting life. The scriptures show us the path to salvation.
1 Peter 2:21-25 NAB
“For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example that you should follow in His footsteps. He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in His mouth. When He was insulted, He returned no insult; when He suffered, He did not threaten; instead, He handed himself over to the one who judges justly. He himself bore out sins in his body upon the cross, so that, free from sin, we might live for righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed. For you had gone astray like sheep, but you have now returned to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.”

When you read the above scripture, take note of “free from sin”. The “Sunday Christian” will not find salvation if his “weekly” acts do not mimick our Lord. A true Christian is simply a follower of Christ, whether that person be Catholic, Baptist, or of no organized religion. Merely accepting the fact that the path to heaven is through Jesus is simply not enough. You must live your life as though that salvation is a precious gift, one that must be cared for and nurtured, and lived for, everyday.
