This sounds so familiar… Did you get it from a Catholic apologist? The argument though, correctly stated, is that John’s condemnation refers to his Revelation specifically. In the end I was just jesting you. Did you have any recommendations for my question in my previous post?

that would be next to impossible given man’s own pride.
Likewise I would look at Calvinism, double predestination and OSAS more respectively and seriously if someone who affirmed TULIP and OSAS would stand up and tell me that they are predestined to damnation. For instance, I would find the doctrines more intriguing if Calvin would have professed his beliefs followed by him stating that he was predestined for damnation.

Does anyone have any writings of someone who believed in either OSAS, and or double predestination and considered themselves among the damned? I would be very curious and intrigued.

Just to clarify; you affirmed (not just had an understanding of it but believed it to be true) double predestination but considered yourself predestined for hell?

Yes i did beleive double predestination to be true…i professed a befief in Christ yet my life was not that of Christ.I was not a very pleasant person.When offering my heart at Mass i would offer to Him a mass ozzing blackness.

Very interesting. Do you have any recommendations on theologians or authors who believed as you did? That is affirmed double predestination and considered themselves among those predestined to damnation.

That i have never seen(authors or theologians) written…But if they were as “tortured” as i felt it would break any true christian’s heart to read it.

No I agree, it would be a frightful position to affirm and equally heart breaking to read. But I would like to hear the doctrine expounded by someone who held this perspective nonetheless.

Sure, all who put their trust in the biblical Jesus Christ alone can have biblical assurance that they are part of the elect of God. We know it’s impossible for God to lie. The promises of God are always yes for those who are united to Christ by faith. Keep your eyes on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith.

1 John 5:13

Are you asking if there are theologians who think that they are damned and not part of the elect? I don’t think so. I had a good friend who was my door to door minstry leader who thought He was NOT an elect of God and left the church. He did not deny the faith, but thought that he was not converted. I told him that if you are an elect of God, you won’t be able to run from God very long, and would never find peace in worldly pursuits. I was right, for years later, he came back to the faith with stronger assurance and faith in Christ.

I never heard of such a thing. If an apostate non-elect retrobate who does not have the Spirit of God dwelling in him for illumination of spiritual truth, then he would be a terrible terrible theologian. Don’t you agree?

Regardless of what side you land on predestination, election, chosen, Calvinism, Arminianism, Augustianism, Catholic, Protetstant, Orthodox, or Anglican… here is biblical wisdom for the elect of God:

Make Your Calling and Election Sure
