There are two strands of major Protestants; Arminians/Pelagians and Calvinsits (in varying degrees). The Arminians/Pelagians in general don’t hold to OSAS. I am a Protestant evangelist and I don’t believe in OSAS - I believe that grace as Paul taught in Romans 6:12 and Titus 2:14 is not a “get out of jail free card” but rather is the strength to live above sin.

I have a Presbytarian friend and before he know my position on this issue he admitted that it does indeed lead to moral laxity and especially with their views on election…precludes the urgency of evangelism.

Eternal Security is a very tenuous argument from a scriptural view; it only makes some sense when taught at the entire flower TULIP…but again is not a strong doctrine.

Ultimately it doesn’t really matter what you believe on the security of the believer because Jesus said “if you love Me you will keep My commandments”. So if you don’t truly love Jesus you will live a life of sin anyways…
