One Brick at a Time: Victory Shall Come

I hear a lot of talk about “one brick at a time”, and I completely agree with some of the stuff said on here.

Now how did we do this week? Have we lived up to our Catholic expectations? Post the little things you have seen so every one can see hints that the piety is coming back.

Example: *
I saw a young man knell down and receive communion on the tongue today*
or
I saw a teenager wearing a scapular at the mall

I would really like to hear from others, and what you think of to days youth’s piety.
 
I can tell you that the FSSP parish I attend is overflowing with altar boys from very young to early adolescence, and they are so much more reverent and attentive than the flip-flop wearing gum-chewing altar girls and boys at my old Novus Ordo parish.

I don’t think this is intrinsic to the Ordinary Form. The blame should be laid on the parents and priests that allow this.

There might be some circumstances where I might tolerate flip-flops on a server (such as where the family simply cannot afford better shoes), but never chewing gum.

I know one pious woman who wore flip-flops all the time as a gesture of poverty.

I’ve seen flip flops numerous times.
 
Not Catholic but wanted to add this: At the Hotels I work at I see a lot more rosaries hanging from rear view mirrors than ever before. Plus several quest wearing medals and crucifixies.
 
At the risk of being assaulted for having such radical ideas, I am offended by our altar servers at my cathedral parish (male and female) who wear clunky Nikes. They are very visible.
