Thanks for the link. You know, I used to think maybe this teaching was some kind of a hoax that Christian posters posted here to counter the Muslims argument that Mohammad did not commit adultery. Now that a Muslim Imam endorses this teaching surely there can be no doubt that indeed Islam condones free sex with multiple partners, slaves not withstanding.

Jesus would never allow this and if committed would considered as adultery.

… Creed agreed to in the 4th century by ALL Christians.
It does not matter what all Christians or all Muslims believe. It matters what God Almighty decides. Is there any verse in your holy book that says it was a sin to had concubines but still Jesus (p) won’t punish Moses, David, Solomon ( pbut) ?
Biblical text clearly indicates that they were more than maids.
Pl. explain . Moses (p) ordered his soldiers to marry them ?
There can be, however, a grant of nullity by the Catholic Church;
If Jesus (p) did not allow divorce , how come Church can allow it ? Catholic Church is not listening to Jesus (p) properly ?

All Christians agree that Church leaders won’t be punished for disobeying God in this matter ?

The Catholic Church does not allow divorce.

then what’s the solution for the victim of an abusive marriage ?
Marriage couple is encouraged to come to the priest or attend Christian Marriage Seminars or just to come to Jesus. Jesus is love and will teach them to love one another and that marriage is a gift from God which should never be broken. Marriage couples who are obedient to the Lord will have their marriage and their lives and household blessed. Divorce should never be the issue and the solution.

If both parties cannot come for some reasons, the victim should go by him/herself. The healing power of God’s love will comfort the victim to carry on and live a life that’s holy and satisfying. Usually such people would find an opening or way to a better alternative life without resorting to sin or the marriage can even be repaired. I personally have seen lots of marriages being saved once people start to come back to God.

take example of Princess Daina & Charles. I guess , they discussed their problem with the priest . Somehow it did not work out. The whole married life , they cheated each other .

So, what’s the practical solution for such couple who finds it difficult to stay together ?

It is not just Princess Diana & Charles. There are millions who are in their situation.

The practical situation like I said is to be a man or woman of God. I have a nine year daughter now. My only wish is, if she will ever get married, to marry a man of God, a man who fears and obeys God; and puts God first in his life. That is the only guarantee for a successful marriage.

If we truly believe that God sanctions marriages, He will surely protect them from destruction. The solution is to look to God in what a couple must do in their marriage life.

God never said that we should divorce if the marriage does not work out or take a few wives if one wife does not satisfy you. No, this is human failing and not God’s word.

God made man and woman so that the two become one, so there are no incompatible people. There would be no need for divorce were it not for the hardness of people’s hearts. Jesus Himself says so, and we definitely believe it. When you see a couple who is in the process of divorce, or has already divorced, you can see the issues on which their relationships have fractured, and they are always affronts to God’s design of our relationships. He hits her, she cheats on him, they can’t stop fighting about money, or fighting about the kids, fighting to control one another…whatever it is, it is a hardening of the heart, and a disregard for God’s commandment that a man is to love his wife as Christ loves the Church, and that a woman is to be lovingly obedient towards her husband.

In a way, it almost a matter of courage. You may be a Muslim, or a Christian, or a Jew…whatever you are…will you take God’s commandments as above your own desire for power (by beating, by fighting, etc), above your struggle with lust (infidelity)?

Divorce is turning away from God, plain and simple. If you are committed to God, you will be committed to your marriage as He has told you to be. Take God seriously, and you will cherish your beloved and revile divorce.

…God never said that we should divorce if the marriage does not work out or take a few wives …
In OT , there is instruction not to deprive firstborn if he is from the wife whom husband does not love etc etc. So , Jesus (p) sanctioned polygamy only for that time ?

Also , there is a verse like that u can pick women who came for dances , later if u want to leave her , give her a ram/lamb ( I forgot the exact word ) , does not it indicate divorce ?

Jesus clearly stated that any intercourse outside the bonds of Monogamous marriage whether adultery/fornication. Also, he said that divorce was given to the Jews, due to the hardness of their hearts. Moses, David, Solomon, Abraham & al. chose Polygamy and Concubinage were chosen by Human Beings (remember God did not create automatons), If we did not have free will there would be no such thing as sin. Also, it is clear from the OT, that the marital infidelity that was practiced was against God’s plan of salvation. For example, see the story of Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar. Abraham did not believe the promise of God and that bore consequences. Another example is God’s saying that Solomon’s wives and concubines turns his heart away from God. If you read my previous posts, you will see that there is a progressive revelation from the OT to the NT. I know that Muslims like to say that OT Prophets, like David, could not have done the things that the Bible alleges. However, to Christians, this is a huge consolation!!! The fact that we can be restored to Grace after sinning is a BIG PLUS for Christianity. This does not mean the sins do not have consequences. Sometimes there are legal consequences, apart from spiritual, but these are not the Church’s concern. The Church is concern with spiritual restoration. Consider the case of Saint Peter, who after denying Christ 3 times (even after advance warning), was restored to Leader of the Church. You must remember that it is necessary to see the OT, in light of the NT. You must put on the Blood-Stained googles of the Cruxifiction and Resurrection of NT to understand Salvific history.
Divorce is not the same as Nullity. One is man-made (Divorce) and the other, nullity, is God-given. The Church can decide, based on strict criteria, that a true SACRAMENTAL marriage never existed. If these criteria are not met, the Church can deny nullity and the persons would not be free to remarry (in the Church). Also, those who are in physical relationships that are not approved by the Church are restrained from partaking of the Blessed Sacrament. If you think Nullity is never denied, think again. King Henry VIII (King of England) was denied nullity and therefore split from the Church; forming the Church of England.

The church can grant nullity. By the way, I wife knew a Yemeni, Muslim lady who was routinely beat by her Muslim husband. In fact, he cut off the tip of one of her fingers to make sure that she understood that he would kill her if she said anything. She had to take her children and go into hiding (in the US), as she feared for her life, from both his family and hers. She would go to a local Imam, out of fear that he would notify her family. By the way, what’s the solution for the victim of an abusive marriage, in Islam, when God Himself gives men the right to beat their wives?

See previous posts by myself and others.
Honestly eichenb2, you will just get the same answer from muslim woman. The teachings of muhammad was deeply ingrained to her belief system. To give you an idea, she mentioned on one of her post that she would rather be the “another wife”.

Sorry but this are one of the brainwashing made by their religion which makes women third class citizens in their society

Perhaps, brevity was misplaced on my reply. I would like Muslim Woman, and others, to know that the Bible states that followers of Christ will recognize Him as their Shepherd when called. After all, Muslim Woman was led to this forum for a reason. She may not be aware of God’s plan, but, true conversion to the truth does not, usually, come out of nowhere.

Gospel of St. John:
10:7
So Jesus again said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
10:8
All who came before me are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not heed them.
10:9
I am the door; if any one enters by me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
10:10
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
10:11
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
10:12
He who is a hireling and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.
10:13
He flees because he is a hireling and cares nothing for the sheep.
10:14
I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own know me,
10:15
as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.
10:16
And I have other sheep, that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will heed my voice. So there shall be one flock, one shepherd.
10:17
For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.

someone gave example of Adam (p). He had only one wife & see what happened later 🤷
I know that Muslims like to say that OT Prophets, like David, could not have done the things that the Bible alleges.
yes , that is another difference between Islam & Christianity. Muslims reject all the dirty allegations against all the Prophets (pbut) . We respect all Prophets , not only Muhammed (p).
One is man-made (Divorce) and the other, nullity, is God-given.
Is there any Biblical verse to support your this claim ?

Jesus (p) said ( not the exact words ) if u marry a divorced lady , it’s like adultery. So , even if a woman can get rid of her abusive husband , no pious Christian will marry her . So , what practical / respectful solutions are given to those people who are unhappy in married lives ?

… he cut off the tip of one of her fingers
O ye who believe!

Ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should ye treat them with harshness**]…live with them on a footing of kindness and equity.** If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing, and Allah brings about through it a great deal of good. ( Quran ; Chapter Women ; 4:19)

Prophet (p) never beat any of his wives. Once he was angry ; instead of beating , he stayed at the mosque for few nights .

A Muslim woman is allowed to end her married life & re-marry. Islam does not say that it’s adultery if any Muslim is married to a divorced woman. Ever wonder , despite the hateful anti-Islamic media propaganda , why so many western men & women are still becoming Muslims ?

Women in Islam

“Treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers.”
