Last Saturday I saw a theatre production of “The Gospel of John.” The entire gospel was performed by one actor named Brad Sherrill, and he was excellent! His Shakespearan training came through as he dramatized every chapter in the gospel. Sometimes he would interact with the audience when speaking Jesus’ lines by walking off stage and holding their hands, or just by speaking directly to one of them. He even “spoke” to me at one point. I also liked it when he, as Jesus, got everybody in a row to join hands. The one thing he didn’t do was tie himself to a crucifix (laughs).😃

I highly recommend you see it if it should ever come to your town. He really made the gospel come alive! You can learn more about this one-man production at www.brookstonetheatre.com.👍 If you happen to be in Toronto anytime this month, you can catch it at the Walmer Road Baptist Church until the 27th.

Another good one-man show on John is available on video: Saint John in Exile by Dean Jones [Yes, The Love Bug - he’s a great actor]

We show it as an introduction to RCIA each year.

I have seen the film thanks to Internet, and I have to say, that I don´t like that in many important scenes like the last supper appear a woman although she don´t speak, I don´t like anything, respect the other is well.

Brad Sherrill’s “Gospel of John” was written about in last week’s edition of The Catholic Register. It’s an excellent article that I wish I could post here. I’m glad his show has been given considerable and favourable coverage. A neighbour of his in Atlanta emailed me and said that this actor was ordained by God, and has enjoyed seeing his other Biblical and faith-related productions.
