I was a well-catechized convert – as a graduate of a Protestant seminary, who had read through a lot of the Early Church Fathers, and had absorbed Newman by the boatload, I was READY for confirmation in the Catholic Church and simply aching to receive the Sacraments.

I can affirm that the months and months of waiting, in obedience and patience, can be a most profitable and rewarding time in your life.

Lam 3: “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul that seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.

The Holy Spirit comes to us in many ways. One of the ways is the hunger you have in your heart right now. May you be blessed with it forever.
That seems to be my situation. My RCIA Instructor finally learned that I had enough background to be confirmed next Sunday if I requested it, but she felt I could help more by staying on. I agreed to stay on,

But really, patience and obediance are NOT among my strong points:D

I truly wish I did. I really regret that I didn’t prepare well. I did my highschool in a catholic school, so at that time Catholic students would be confirmed ard 8th grade and usually we have the session after school. And I attended only few.:banghead: So I was confirmed without knowing the meaning behind it. Sad, right?:crying:

I am so envy to see the confirmation of my mum last Sunday, because she had to attend 10 sessions without fail (skip 1 means no confirmation). I always hear wonderful story, how happy people who get confirmed.
well unfortunately my friend, iam very sad today so iam not happy
about anything right now. my brother is dying of liver cancer and
i only found out a few hours ago, and on All Souls Day of all days.

MyPhilomena,
I’m so sorry to hear about your brother. Pray with him to keep him strong. As Catholics it is our strength and the power of our prayers that make the difference for ourselves and others.

Welcome to the Catholic Church!:blessyou:

Oh, and I LOVE Philomena. I know her history and there is no other Saint like her.
