Nice! When I get off work I’m definitely hearing what he has to say. Good on him for putting a face to his action. If the Vatican wants to jail him he can count on me and many many other Christians to pay for his defense fund.

God bless him and the rest of those Cristeros!

We always say that the end doesn’t justify the means, but when it’s the vatican, it’s totally ok to steal private property and destroy it…

Such holy Cristeros!

I would have more respect if he remained anonymous.

I am inclined to agree but I see his point too - esp since he may go to jail now. I just hope his 3 minutes of fame haven’t gone to his head. He mentioned future videos. Whatever for? Perhaps it is better to just do God’s work quietly as the need arises.

The Catholic Church is not a place to put idols in and having Christ in the tabernacle is for the people of God. The first commandment is not private but to be obeyed by all.

well he says he did, but is there proof he actually did it.

I can hear the head lines already… Catholic Register…Jesus Cleans Out the Temple. And the Pharisees Times…Jesus desecrates the Temple

“We know he’s the Son of God, but it is so un-Christlike of him to behave in this manner!”

It’s beginning to look more like a publicity stunt to me.

I’m not going to criticise his throwing out of the Pachamama statues. If he feels that they did not belong in a Catholic church, that’s fine. Perhaps he’s right, perhaps he shouldn’t have done it this way, I’m not going to judge him on that.

But now I see that the self proclaimed expert on the Catholic faith Taylor Marshall has his hands all over it, having interview him about it (fast work, since the guy only published the video on youtube today) and then asked people on twitter to follow him, as he also has a twitter account.

Why did he have to reveal who he was? He could have just thrown the Pachamama statues out, he didn’t have to make a video of the act and then another video of him revealing who he is and why he did it.

I feel he is trying to build a high profile for himself in the Catholic world with this, or at least, that’s how it looks.

Why did he have to reveal who he was?
I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that Taylor Marshall & the other guy (Gordon something?) said they’d give him money if he ended up in a pinch in court? Maybe he feels invincible right now. I read his personal website is soliciting money (why?? For what??) Ugh. Why did this have to go here. I really don’t believe it was a publicity stunt to begin with. But it might be becoming one. Afterall, why was his video in English? He’s Austrian. Sounds like it was created to be easily accessible to a certain audience (again, Marshall et al?)

The ancient cathedrals will built anonymously by artists who gave their skill to God. In this day of easy internet “five minutes of fame” it’s be nice to see someone give to God anonymously for a chance. The guy was a breath or fresh air before this. Now… meh.

Funny, I was thinking just about this when writing my reply.

Here God seemed fit to physically cast out the merchants of the Temple. Did He do it because he was God? Or because it was morally permissible?

What about the end doesn’t justify the means? How does it fit with this and our authority? Are we permitted to flagelate people in a Church like God did? To steal their possessions?

Part of me wants to express joy that young men are so engaged with the Catholic Church, and part of me wants to start singing Billy Joel’s “Angry Young Man”.

Carry on, love is coming, love is coming to us all…

For me, the issue is not why he chose to steal the idol and throw it in the Tiber, nor is it why he chose to go on YouTube to publicize his action.

For me, the issue is why there wasn’t a train of priests and bishops accompanying him when he took that action.
