One of the most beautiful definitions of "Liturgy" that I have ever ran across to this date

Hi,

I came across this today doing research for another thread. When I read it, I had to stop and let it sink in because this is good stuff. Another reason I am thankful for the Church and Her Sacraments and Liturgy.

This was is the definition given by German theologian A. Verheul

“Liturgy” - It is a personal meeting, under the veil of holy signs, of God with his Church and with the total persons of each one of her members, in and through Christ and in the unity of the Holy Spirit."

In the liturgy it is the whole Christ (Christus Totus) who acts, Head and Body. As our High Priest he celebrates with his body, which is the Church in heaven and on earth.

Christ, not an impersonal God, and the Church not individuals.

Why do you think of God as impersonal? He is our Father, no?
