read this book en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infidel_(book

You will learn a lot about being raised muslim, its a very good book and educational.
Thank you; Here are quotes from your author;

Hirsi Ali: Islam means submission to the will of Allah. Growing up, I lived and slept and ate and dreamed Islam. In the first 10 years of my life in the Netherlands, I managed to do exactly the same as the Dutch. My faith became a very private matter. Then after 9/11 I was shocked. And after it became clear that the attacks were committed by Muslims in the name of Islam, I now had trouble between what the Koran tells me to do, what Allah tells me to do and my own conscience.

Hirsi Ali: **It was restricting. I had learned to lie to myself that it’s not really God who gave us a subordinate position, it was men who were doing it. **And like the other so- called Muslim feminists, I was exercising mental gymnastics in which I would read in the Koran only those verses that said men and women were equal.

I rest my case, God does not call us to be slaves, we are his “Children”. The slave and submissive tactics of religion comes from man not God.

Peace be with you

spn, you are right. It is the Muslims who are to be blamed. They are following a wrong theology. You are helping them, aiding and abetting that they are following the right theology, that That is islam

I wish that you did not dig out things from the Quran out of context to label islam as a violent religion. I do not want to discuss any of that. You would like to separate the sin from the sinner. Here also you should separate the sinners from real Islam. Thanks. We hope it could help to bring down the bigots more quickly.

The Muslim Fanatics are violent because you are also saying that Islam is a violent religion. You are blaming Islam due to the bad deeds of the Muslim fanatics. What these fanatics are doing is not right. It is not islam.
I understand the point you are making, those who wish to propagate a violent form of islam can say “see even the infidels can see that we are supposed to wage war against them.” I think the only hope of avoiding a very long and bloody conflict between islam and the west is if muslims who are like you take drastic measures to stop the spread of this dangerous ideology. muslims know before anyone else what is being preached in your mosques.

this is worse than the atheist positions and it is frightening that anyone would say this, The most important part in believing in Him is What He did at the cross! He paid a horrible price and muslims tell people they should believe in Jesus but reject the cross!
When I said this I didnt realise I was responding to a Muslim I thought your statement was coming from a professing Christian. Your saying it is NOT worse than it coming from an atheist. I hope I didnt offend you. the latter part of this statement is true and very important.

In the second quote she is referring to the subordinate positions of wives to husbands. not a believers relationship to God. My positions on the other issue is both: He made us adopted sons, we willingly make ourselves slaves in gratitude. We were slave to sin and death. He freed us from that

the title referenced “Feminism”. The key to my subject matter is that subordination to “Allah” as a slave is what is practiced by Muslim women at the force by men and law. This type of slave to “Allah” or humanity goes against why Jesus Christ died, to free us from slavery and make us children of God.

Peace be with you Janet; I understand the servant translated from slave. I as a Catholic have no problem with slave as long as it is used in the correct context of bible and Sacred Tradition from the Apostles. The Popes and Catholic religious use this terminology as servants in the vineyard of God our Father.

The Catholic teaching does not conflict with this scripture as I have just described between slave and Child of God. How do you interpret this scripture below?

Galatians.4:5-7 to ransom those under the law, so that we might receive adoption. As proof that you are children, God sent the spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” ** So you are no longer a slave but a child**, and if a child then also an heir, through God.) member of Christ and coheir with him,
There is no problem for me with that. That is exactly what I see as the beauty of being bought by Him with a price. Because we are His slaves He can and does make us His children. I totally understand and love this. I am actually enamered by this fact. On the other hand our attitude does not necessarily change to what we see in today’s children. What I am trying to say is that the New Testament is riddled with slave language. Everywhere we can see the absolute obedience to Him alone and the absolute dependancy on Him alone in the NT.
As His slaves we are to be obedient and have only Him as our focus for our lives. We only depend on God’s provision for us and we praise Him for all the good we experience as well as for all the discipline He confers upon us to make us more like Jesus Christ.
As His children we are called to the same obedience we can see during that time and throughout Scripture. Our obedience and focus does not change by this, but our reward does. As His children we are being made co-heirs with Christ and will one day reign with Him in glory.
To me this is a wonderful concept and the slave analogy that the Holy Spirit provides us with is helping us in these modern days to better understand our relationship with the Lord.

The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. My love be with you in Christ Jesus.

In Him,
Janet

I always find that people assume that Islam is a religion of violence. Rather, it is a religion of peace. However, the misinterpretation is caused by militant Islam. Militant Islam is caused by passages within the Koran that warrant violence. The thing is, Muhammad dictated his life experiences. So, in this context, can we truly believe that these passages are correct? One might think that the writer chose to insert passages of his own accord by claiming Muhammad said them himself. Also, looking at history and modern-day, Muslims would rather level a religious tax, or jizya, rather than killing Christians or others of a different faith. That’s just my perspective though. What does everyone else believe?
Did you read the Koran and the sunnah? Have you been paying attention to what the Muslims have been doing to Christians in Egypt, Iraq, Malaysia, Africa, the Gaza and elsewhere? Just yesterday a Muslim who claims to be an Ahmadi Muslim who is always trying to convince us that Islam means peace had to admit that the Ahmadis are being killed by the majority sect of Muslims.

Many of my recent posts on ‘Is Islam a threat to Christians’ have many current articles that show Islam’s so called peacefulness. The masses do nothing to stop it or change the laws of Islam. And if you looked over those you would find that there is nothing about toleration and love for anyone not a Muslim and in fact the non-Muslim has no rights. Slavery is ok, and a non-Muslim MUST accept subjugation if they are to co-exist and accept daily humiliation. They have NO rights. And if they are not of the ones they have decreed can be subjugated then they have only two choices - death or convert to Islam.

The subjugated ones have the choice of death, convert to Islam or accept subjugaton/slavery. Slaves have even less rights than the subjugated peoples.

The majority of Muslims do nothing to change what Islam is all about. In fact, deception is mandated while Muslims live in dar al harb (our lands they consider the realm of war).

I have asked that Ahmadi Muslim - planten - on a different thread why he doesn’t join Muslim threads and try to change the concept of violence in islam. Sharia laws says that every Muslim MUST wage Jihad and violence is ALWAYS an option if non-Muslims do not accept Allah or Mohammed. He has not answered me yet why he wastes so much energy trying to convince us that Islam means peace when it is his fellow misunderstanders of Islam that are either creating the violence and hatred or doing nothing about it to change the laws that allow it and in fact make it holy and make the ones who do it martyrs if they die while killing others for Allah’s Cause. They get on the fast path to their heaven if they are a martyr. Why isn’t he convincing them they are wrong instead of us who would prefer that Islam was peaceful?
