One World or New World Order

I’ve heard others say that Chapter 13 of Revelations can be interpreted as predicting a New World Order or a One World governing authority.

What do Catholics believe?

I have also heard about a One World Order thing. I’m still learning about Revelations though, so I don’t know what to file this under yet.

What I do know however, is that I will certainly be against any one world governing body above all other governing bodies if it were ever to be advocated or come about, regardless of what Revelations say, as the old sayin’ goes, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Anyway, just some of my thoughts on it at the moment. I hope this has helped

No reason why this government should be based on power Josh.

It could easily be a mutually inclusive collaboration of elected representatives of all nations.

Decisions are made based on the common good, and everyone’s voice is as valid as the other. In fact minority nations should be looked after more.

People have been praying for the end …anticipating the end …and supposedly interpreting end time scripture for the last 2000 years because they thought the end would happen in their lifetime…it didn’t…even the first Christians thought Jesus would return in their lifetime…he didn’t…all this end time talk nowadays is because of those simplistic end times books by an Evangelical pastor…I remember 40 years ago as a Pentecostal there were sellout books predicting the same thing about the new world order…how everything was set for everyone to receive the “mark of the beast” on their forehead or their hand…we were all going have an invisible “bar code”…woe to anyone who received the “mark of the beast”…that was all going to happen within a 5 year time frame…worldwide…that was 40 years ago…didn’t happen…heard no more about it…the truth is some people want these things to happen that they believe everything they read…stick to what the church teaches and you won’t be led astray

Well…like I said…40 years ago that was the big thing among the end time believers…invisible bar codes on the forehead or hand…the technology was ready to go and would usher in the one world government…it never happened so I guess nowadays it’s been re interpreted (again) so no one knows what form it will take…that does seem like a pretty safe bet if it doesn’t happen in the forseeable future…I really don’t take much notice of that now that i’m Catholic…but…to each… his or her own I guess **Notice how cell phones are becoming so popular, many are joined at the hip to them, also notice how the things we can use them for keep increasing?..I dont think this is coincidence, eventually as the technology progresses, an implantable one will be the rage, on the surface it will appear to be great, everyone will love it, but a few people will recognize what else can be done with this technology.

I dont think its really re-interpreted, its the same idea, they need some kind of technology or system to keep track of lots of people, all over the globe, this technology is already all around us, GPS, cell phones, chips, etc, any one of them could be the mark, but by the time this is known, it will be too late. Sad thing is, people dont even see it coming. for all we know, we all could already have a ‘personal bar code’, the SS number can be translated to a bar code easily.

Personally, Ive always wondered about the social security number system, in the wrong hands, this could be terrible for us, and its already solidly in place, no one even suggests not getting one, I dont think you even can turn this down.
