What kind of ridiculous non-sense is this?

Your Prophet, the founder of Protestantism, Marin Luther, coined the term ‘sola scriptura’.

And modern Protestants of EVERY stripe, don’t just ‘call it that’; they proudly champion it.

Concur.

Rather pretentious of you to pretend to know this, no?

Careful what you wish for; at least now you still have time to reconcile with His Bride, whom you have rejected, and disdained.

Not necessarily an ‘antichrist’.

A ‘seperated brother’, according to the Church that Christ left us.

Note that for all your pretended reverence of the Holy Bible…you disdain the wonderful gift He left to this world–HIS CHURCH.

Christ did not leave us a Bible; he left us a Church.

That’s why He selected Apostles, and expressly bequeathed His authority to them.
Luther is no prophet and is rarely brought up, same for Sola scriptura. I have seen it here more than in all my readings combined (not that it’s extensive).
Nice to see you concur. What to do about it?
Pretentious? Think this world would be right if we were all Catholic? You are divided too so my comment makes perfect sense and i took it from the Bible.
You believe the CC is the only way so if I reject that I am in fact an antichrist.
Christ commanded his Words be written, so he in fact left us scriptures which have become our Bible. Why were scriptures commanded to be written?

Scripture alone without God-given authority does not work.

Scripture also tells us of Tradition (capital “T” Tradition, not disciplinary tradition which can change).

We were given Scripture, Tradition, and God-given authority (Magisterium).

These are not new ideas u consider “tin foil”, but have been around for some time. This particular thread happens to be titled “one world religion”. That involves prophecy which means interpretations of today and what’s coming. Being a conservative (most should be here) you know the left is talking equal pay for women to throw a decoy away from the real issues like health care, borders, and skirting the constitution. Population control has been around for decades; see abortion. This is the other reason for the gay marriage push. The first is Satan’s time grows nearer. I won’the bury my head in the sand so the hat stays. And the looks of the tone of your posts against mine smacks of bullying. But you wouldn’t do that as a conservative, would u?
Great points!

Take a read on Revelation 13. I think that would be more where I would start. My laptop crashed so I don’t have all my refs anymore.
And what point(s) are you trying to make from Rev 13?

The First Beast

And I saw a beasta] rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems upon its horns and a blasphemous name upon its heads. 2 And the beast that I saw was like a leopard, its feet were like a bear’s, and its mouth was like a lion’s mouth. And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority. 3 One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and the whole earth followed the beast with wonder. 4 Men worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?”
5 And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months; 6 it opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven. 7 Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them.**(“Rev 13 RSVCE - The First Beast - And I saw a beast - Bible Gateway”)] And authority was given it over every tribe and people and tongue and nation, 8 and all who dwell on earth will worship it, every one whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb that was slain. 9 If any one has an ear, let him hear:
10 If any one is to be taken captive,
to captivity he goes;
if any one slays with the sword,
with the sword must he be slain.

Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.
The Second Beast

11 Then I saw another beastc] which rose out of the earth; it had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon. 12 It exercises all the authority of the first beast in its presence, and makes the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose mortal wound was healed. 13 It works great signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in the sight of men; 14 and by the signs which it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast, it deceives those who dwell on earth, bidding them make an image for the beast which was wounded by the sword and yet lived; 15 and it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast so that the image of the beast should even speak, and to cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain. 16 Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, 17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. 18 This calls for wisdom: let him who has understanding reckon the number of the beast, for it is a human number, its number is six hundred and sixty-six.d]e]
Footnotes:

  1. *]13.1 a beast: This symbolizes the material forces of evil, arrayed against the church.
*]Revelation 13:7 Other ancient authorities omit this sentence
*]13.11 another beast: i.e., the false prophets.
*]Revelation 13:18 Other ancient authorities read six hundred and sixteen
*]13.18 six hundred and sixty-six: The letters of Nero’s name plus the title of Caesar, given their numerical meaning in Hebrew and added together, makes 666.

NB: Religion =/= Government authority.

The website you linked was about secular authority (not to mention that it rested upon extraordinary extrapolations from ordinary premises).

I also, personally, don’t care for your innuendo/insinuation that Pope Francis is complicit in this dubious conspiracy theory you espouse (which I must presume was the reason for linking that ridiculous article).

So your malevolence vis a vis the Pope, is transparent–and duly noted.
Being a conservative (most should be here) you know the left is talking equal pay for women to throw a decoy away from the real issues like health care, borders, and skirting the constitution.
I don’t think that one’s a decoy, first of all, and secondly, its implementation is hardly attention diverting, as the law past in Cali. recently is plenty offensive on its own, and we can fight that battle front without surrendering on others.
Population control has been around for decades; see abortion. This is the other reason for the gay marriage push.
Perhaps; I think there may be other factors at play here, but I won’t split hairs here, or argue with you on this point, as I don’t expect anything fruitful to come from such.
The first is Satan’s time grows nearer.
Not sure what your saying here. The first what?
I won’the bury my head in the sand so the hat stays. And the looks of the tone of your posts against mine smacks of bullying.
I’m sorry you feel that way, but frankly your tone sounds belligerent and condescending, to me. Perhaps I took a defensive posture in response.

As for the t/f hat…I don’t care what you do with it–but this is not a conspiratorial type forum, and your nexus to the thread, let alone the purpose of this MB, has been pretty thin, and particularly inappropriate, when you surreptitiously seek to impugn our Pope in your dubious little conspiracy plot allegations.
But you wouldn’t do that as a conservative, would u?
What, defend Truth and propriety?

Absolutely.

If anything, I feel I might be derelict if I let your innuendo go unchallenged.

Luther is no prophet
Concur. But HE claimed to be a prophet (hence the asterisks), in order to address the lack of divine authority for his new ‘gospel’.
and is rarely brought up
Maybe that’s because we like to remind our separated brethren of the flimsy basis for Protestantism (or rather, the dubious person by whom it was founded), while Protestants seek to obscure that. 😉
, same for Sola scriptura.
Not sure what you’ve been reading, but there is an ocean of Protestant literature that proudly champions Sola Scriptura.
I have seen it here more than in all my readings combined (not that it’s extensive). Nice to see you concur.
That’s probably because we live in the USA (mostly Protestant), and this MB is in English, so much if not most of the Apologetics on this Board–especially in this sub-forum–are geared towards Protestantism, and at the core of the Protest—that Protestants continually wage against Christ’s Church, is the authority of the Bible, over and to the exclusion of, the very Church that Christ founded, and of which, the Bible itself, speaks (see Acts, and to whom all of the letters and epistles in the NT, were addressed).
What to do about it?
Address it; expose the flimsy basis for Protestantism, that its adherants may see the err of their ways.
You believe the CC is the only way so if I reject that I am in fact an antichrist.
Complete strawman. Again, Catholic authority does not equate Protestantism with being ‘an antichrist’–but rather, treats them as what they are–separated brethren.
Christ commanded his Words be written, so he in fact left us scriptures which have become our Bible. Why were scriptures commanded to be written?
Not in my Bible.

At least I haven’t seen where Christ made any such command.

Perhaps you could be so kind as to produce the specific Ch. and Verse references to which you allude here?

:knight1:

I did not read the whole thread.
I refute them by showing them that the only explicit “One Religion” is Christ’s: Jn 17:20-23, Eph 4:5; 1 Cor 1:10 etc.

I’ve gotten some head way with this.

Hope that helps :signofcross:
