I am finally home. What was suppose to be an overnight stay after my surgery, turned into a nightmare. I developed a 104 temperature, cellulitis, and come to find out that my surgeon couldn’t do what was needed to fix my ostomy. He found a hernia below it and really did a number on my abdomen.
I was packed in ice by the RNs, nauseated, & on strong pain meds every 2 hrs. for almost a week. Seems like nothing ever comes easy for me for some reason. All I wanted was a resection and then to come home and recover. I had to deal with a screaming man next door to me and a praying/screaming/swearing elderly roommate so not much sleep. I did get to meet with Father Zajac for prayers after surgery and receive communion.
I will pray for you getting beter. From your pain, may you endure your suffering to share in the Passion of Our Lord. May God heal you .

Anyway, it’s going to be a long recovery for me. My poor DH has to do everything now…food shopping, cleaning, cooking, errands, etc. On top of the MD appts. He deserves an award for being a saint. The only good thing was I didn’t develop a DVT and I have all of my Christmas shopping done for my nieces/nephews,hubby, and I already got hubby’s anniversary and birthday gift just in case I wouldn’t be able to drive.
Thank you in advance. Pray that this wound heals correctly and I can get off these antibiotics which are wreaking havoc on my gut (I have Crohn’s–not a good mix)
God Bless You.
