Can you recommend an online homeschool for middle school and highschool?

What I’m looking for:
  1. Is graded online
  2. Has live on-line classes with a teacher
  3. Already has lesson plans
  4. Is Catholic
Basically, I want to give my son textbooks and a laptop and let him go. LOL He’s currently using K12 for 6th grade homeschool and it’s fantastic but I wonder if I can switch him to a Catholic school.

Thanks.

You’re really looking for a Cyberschool then, not Homeschool. Using “Catholic Cyberschool” might net you more results.

only for my interest: How does it makes a difference if the school is catholic or not when it´s an online school?
I made my last school years via an online school for self-learning pupils with online contact to teachers. I noticed not much space for religion there…

Cyberschool differs from the typical correspondence-based homeschool in that the communication between teachers and students and student to student fosters discussion.

Most cyberschools are a reflection of secular values.

Having a Catholic slant is going to foster more Catholic principles of morality and will encourage students to grow in their faith. Rather than saying, “read about XYZ he struggled, too, a teacher could suggest St. Dominc Salvo” and rather than hearing for the umpteenth time how evil the Catholic Church is, one can delve into History from the Catholic perspective.

Oh ok, I didn´t knew this concept. It´s not common in germany, they translate almost everything with learning at home as “homeschooling” . I had contact to my teachers and some meetings before the tests. We could choose if we would like to make a test in religion, but religion itself has not such a big space in the history teachings in that school form (well, of couse, we learned about reformation, schismata, etc., but exegetic traditionb were left to the chosen teachers in religion).

I really like the idea of a spirtitual support from the teachers. It is not common here, even in religiour private schools here it is left to a small prayer before school starts, in most cases.

Real, true, homeschooling is not actually legal in Germany so many of the terms regarding Homeschooling and what the rest of the world enjoys are foreign concepts.

“Homeschooling” in the US varies from what is Cyberschooling (using a distant school to administer everything) to Unschooling (child chooses what they learn and do not follow any set standards). There are many things in between. Most homeschoolers today do augmented curriculum homeschooling–where they follow a curriculum but opt to take some classes else ware–co-op or private school or public school. Some make up their own curriculum that meets the same standards of local schools. A few choose to do whatever they feel and don’t have any plans or rules–which is legal in all states but California.

Yes, I know, I had a huge discussion with the ministry of culture here in my state because they didn´t allowed me to start this online school were I finished school when I was 17 - still under the duty for chosing a legal, official school here. Every different school concept is oficially labeled as “second-chance education” and only availible for people too old for public schools without losing health care etc. (which is sometimes connected with the status as pupil). At least, I got an approval, and it was great. I had far better grades than ever before and was able to work during the day.
The discussion about homeschooling here is still alive. I hope they will make it possible one day.

Cyberschool! I never heard of this term before. Thank you. This brings up better search results.
