Online Catholic Resources

Besides the wonderful catholic.com, what are you favorite resources on the internet for supporting and developing your Catholic faith? These could be sites on theology, favorite prayers, devotions, ideas for Catholic activities, etc. I’m currently living in Bahrain (island in the Middle East), so I can’t exactly walk down the street to my local Catholic bookstore and I’d love to know where to find more Catholic resources.

If looking online for Catholic resources one needs to be very cautious. There are so many site out there ~ and not all of them are solid.

There is one web-site that reviews web-sites according to “Fidelity-Resources-Usability.”

Whenever using a new Catholic web-site I recommend checking out its “Fedelity” rating on Catholic Culture first. There is too much false information out there in cyberspace that is not only confusing ~ it is corrupt.

Too true and a very good warning, as I’m still a fairly new Catholic (just passed my year anniversary this Easter). Fortunately, I’m a skeptic by nature.

I have found myself burnt on more than one occasion by the internet. Began reading what I thought was great Catholic stuff only to realize it was corrupt. When I found Catholic Culture ~ it is now my first offense. When you get to know the web-site you will be shocked to see the other information is holds.

Actually I find the internet a great resource for me because I live in an extremely northern rural area of the US.

I haven’t had much luck with online resources, unless you count amazon.com! I imagine S&H might be ridiculously expensive for you in the Middle East, but often times amazon sells used books for a fraction of the original price.
