In my opinion, Ave Maria Singles is the best option for finding a serious, practicing Catholic. My husband and I met through Ave.

Now, that said, every website has its share of people you have to weed through-- some who are less than honest, some who are a little on the odd side, and some who are perfectly nice but you just don’t “click” with. My husband was on the site 3 years before we met, and I was on for 2 years. There were others we met and dated through the site that didn’t work out.

With Ave you have to pay a fee up front, which does weed out many who are not very serious. And, their profile is very detailed and asks the hard questions regarding contraception, etc.

I’ll second the recommendation for www.avemariasingles.com. My husband was a member for about a year and a half; I joined 9 months before he contacted me.

It’s “good”, in my opinion, because it’s smaller, has a great deal of support staff/resources, and candid about its orthodoxy/faithfulness to the Magisterium.

I’ll add my own recommendation for AveMariaSingles. I’m currently a member (have been for about 6 months). I haven’t met The One yet (keeping my fingers crossed), but it does seem to draw those most inclined to be faithful to the Church’s teachings. Just be prepared for a decent one-time fee. It’s not terribly cheap.

I had great success with Catholic Match: met my husband!

I was also on Ave Maria, which at the time didn’t have as many options that I hear they now have. CM had message boards and you could chat with both sexes (including in the men-only or women-only rooms.)

I met my DH on Catholic Singles. I wasn’t very serious at first…they gave me a free trial membership. (I was a poor college student.) If it hadn’t been for that I never would have met him!

I agree. Ave Maria Singles covers a wide range of very difficult topics and topics that are very important to many Catholics. My wife and I also met on this site and we, like 1ke, would highly recommend this site to anyone.
