I have never experienced the Latin Mass (being born in 1982 I didn’t grow up with it). Lately, through reading these forums and reading various websites, I have become very curious about the Latin Mass and would like to experience it for myself. I have found a parish about an hour from where I live where an FSSP priest says the Latin Mass daily.

I’m wanting a Latin-English missal so that I can understand what is going on at Mass. I have looked online and most Latin Missals run $50+! Does anyone know of a website where I could find a printable Latin-English text I could use to print off and take with me to Mass? I don’t see myself making regular habit of attending the Latin Mass so I don’t see the need for a missal loaded with daily readings and miscellaneous prayers. Plus, it would be much cheaper to print one off, preferably one that could be downloaded in Word or pdf format. Thanks for any suggestions!

Here you are: 🙂

Please note that the “Prayers After the Mass” are normally prayed after the low Mass. I’m not sure if you will be attending a low or sung Mass".

Be sure to report back your experience in the Traditional Forum!

I’m not sure if your parish will have it, but our parish has a bunch of “loaner” copies of the Baronius Press daily missal, which can be used by anyone. But learning how to drive the missal can be a bit tricky. I suggest, for now, learn the basics of the Latin Mass with a missalette, and then move to Latin Mass 102 with something a bit more formal as far as a missal is concerned.

As far as the Ordinary of the Mass, I think you’ve got the right idea in starting simple. Since you’re going to an FSSP parish, you’ll probably find a red misalette in the pews that will help you to follow along with what is going on during the Mass. You can also buy it online here for $5: FSSP Bookstore. I ended up buying one and reading it at home when I first started attending Latin Mass just so I could go home and read about all the complex things happening at the altar.

If you feel the need to get something a bit more formal, but aren’t quite ready to plunge into fully Daily Missal mode, the Fraternity also has a very affordable Sunday Missal that you may want to check out as well called My Sunday Missal. On Amazon.com this book is $25.95, but the FSSP has it for only $9.95.

Wow! 👍
Thanks for all of you that posted links. I was just in our Catholic bookstore today asking if they had this. The poor ladies there looked puzzled.
I don’t think they realized that our diocese offers a Latin Mass at my Parish. I felt like they were uncomfortable by me asking. 🤷

If you have an iPhone or an iPad there is an app called “iMassHD”. It is put put by an FSSP parIsh, I don’t remember which one. It has a electronic Missal, and you can watch the mass daily and follow along.
Good Luck! 👍

The Traditional Latin Mass I attend is a ‘Solemn’ High Mass. Each week I print off the Mass for the day from a website where I can select ‘Low’ or ‘High’ Mass and select Rubrics 1960. The address is: divinumofficium.com/cgi-bin/missa/missa.pl
