I have read this book before. It’s an excellent book on Islam from a Christian perspective.

Norman Geisler is an anti-Catholic polemicist, though. I wouldn’t trust him to be any more objective with Islam.

seems to recommend it

I’m not saying the book can’t possibly contain any truth in it. I would just be wary to further research anything that guy writes. As far as the fact that you found it where you did, I realize that sometimes these things do happen. You can’t always tell the content of a book by its label. In fact yesterday, my friend and I went to a Hastings’ over here and started looking through the section with all the books on Catholicism. One was called something like “Everything you must know about the Roman Catholic Church” in that same area, and looked innocuous enough. When you started reading through it, however, it was the same old pack of standard lies.

Just be careful, is all I’m saying.

BTW, “Abdul Saleeb” is a nom de plume. Literally, it means “Servant of the Cross.” According to the Introduction in my copy, he is a convert from Islam. Pretty obvious why he would take another name.

This conclusion should spark some thought in the minds of Muslims truely interested in seeking the “real” faith to follow, thanks for that link the book is quite useful.

The Qur’an claims to be the Word of God, but it does not prove to be the Word of God. It has claims without supporting credentials. None of the arguments offered by its apologists is convincing. Each contains fallacies. Of course one can continue to *believe *in the divine origin of the Qur’an without evidence to support it. But those who seek a reasonable faith will have to look elsewhere. Further, it lacks the very distinguishing characteristic it believes both Judaism and Christianity possess, namely, supernatural confirmation by God.

I don’t think the description of Norman Geisler being ‘an anti-Catholic polemicist’ is accurate.

Lately, Norm has been in the habit of loaning his name to books. From reading answering islam book I think the ex-muslim is the primary author.
