As I learnt as christian believer, Lord jesus is the real begotten son of the God.

Can you give me some refrences that prove formal view of Church is actual begotten, not virtual?

The Creed,"We believe in one Lord JESUS CHRIST the only begotten Son of the Father,God from God.light from light true God from true God begotten not made one in being with the Father Through Him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation He came down from heaven and became Man. Hope that helps a little, I am sure many others have helpful (name removed by moderator)ut and will share. God Bless

Yes, in many sources we can read that Lord Jesus is the begotten son of the Father God, But did any source emphasis that Actual begotten, not Vitual?

Collins Dictionary:
Virtual (american) 1. being such practically or in effect, although not in actual fact or name.
Beget: To beget something means to cause it to happen or be created.
  • The Father is the cause but this is not in time with regard to the ontology of the Son and Holy Spirit, for this is beyond all time.
  • Jesus Christ is the person of the Son who assumed human nature, in time, that is with a created human soul and body.
These teachings were confirmed in the early Ecumenical Councils of the Church.

Also in the bible ,concerning the birth of Jesus’who was born not by human choice, nor by a man’s decision, but of God,"And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us and we saw His glory the glory of the Father’s only Son. Also in His Baptism ‘this is my beloved Son in Whom I am well pleased.’ The answer you are looking for is in what you are willing to accept. Your faith will guide you, Read the posts of others who are more informative then I. may GOD Bless you.

Hi!

…are you asking for Biblical proof that Jesus is the Son of God?:
1:18 This is how Jesus Christ came to be born… the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, ‘Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because she has conceived what is in her by the Holy Spirit. 1:21 She will give birth to a son and you must name him Jesus, because he is the one who is to save his people from their sins.’ 1:22 Now all this took place to fulfil the words spoken by the Lord through the prophet: 1:23 ‘The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son and they will call him Emmanuel, a name which means ‘God-is-with-us’… she gave birth to a son; and he named him Jesus. (St. Matthew)
26 And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, called Nazareth, 27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. 28 And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. 29 Who having heard, was troubled at his saying, and thought with herself what manner of salutation this should be. 30 And the angel said to her: Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God. 31 Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and shalt bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name Jesus. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the most High; and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father; and he shall reign in the house of Jacob for ever. 33 And of his kingdom there shall be no end. 34 And Mary said to the angel: How shall this be done, because I know not man? 35 And the angel answering, said to her: The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the most High shall overshadow thee. And therefore also the Holy which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (St. Luke)
1:1 In the beginning was the Word: and the Word was with God and the Word was God. 1:2 He was with God in the beginning. 1:3 Through him all things came to be, not one thing had its being but through him. 1:4 All that came to be had life in him and that life was the light of men, 1:5 a light that shines in the dark, a light that darkness could not overpower. 1:6 A man came, sent by God. His name was John. 1:7 He came as a witness, as a witness to speak for the light, so that everyone might believe through him. 1:8 He was not the light, only a witness to speak for the light. 1:9 The Word was the true light that enlightens all men; and he was coming into the world. 1:10 He was in the world that had its being through him, and the world did not know him. 1:11 He came to his own domain and his own people did not accept him. 1:12 But to all who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, to all who believe in the name of him 1:13 who was born not out of human stock or urge of the flesh or will of man but of God himself. 1:14 The Word was made flesh, he lived among us, and we saw his glory, the glory that is his as the only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth. (St. John)

No, I need a reference which clearly emphasis that he was actual son of God, not vitual.

Thank you. it is not about sonness, we all know Lord Jesus was the only begotten so of God, but I need a reference that emphasis that he was the actual son of God, not vitual son of God.

Hi!

I think that what you are asking is something akin to how did man think about the atom, something that cannot be seen or felt with the senses, develop theories about it way prior to the invention of the microscope?

It is called Revelation.

What God has Revealed is that Jesus, the Word, when Revealed to the world would be as the Son of God.

This Revelation is made full and plain in the various passages of Scriptures.

Yet, you cannot comprehend any passage of Scripture that demonstrates that because you cannot comprehend how God can be both One and One in three distinct Persons.

That, my friend. is one of the Mysteries of God.

I have offered this before and I offer it to you: consider the Triune God in the composition of water: water in its three states remains H2O–it is interesting that the one element that remains unchanged is water and water is the one element that provides life.

He revealed he wasn’t of ‘this’ generation. He meant Adam was not His father.
Matthew 11-111
11 Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has risen no one greater than John the Baptist
Matthew 23:35

35 that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of innocent Abel to the blood of Zechari′ah the son of Barachi′ah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar. 36 Truly, I say to you, all this will come upon this generation.
He wasn’t part of this generation. Our generation. He wasn’t generated by Adam.

“He” as in Jesus? That is not correct. Jesus took his flesh and human nature from Mary. He was formed from her own material. He was not simply placed in her womb, he took flesh from her flesh. Mary is descended from Adam, and so is Jesus. Both his flesh being from Mary and him being descended from Adam are key points in our theology.

Are you basically asking for scriptural references that the Son is eternally begotten of God? And that Jesus isn’t just a man who was “adopted” into Sonship?

Jesus tells us He and the Father are One. that does not sound like Jesus is saying He is virtually One with the Father. for me, it is as simple as that.

many places in the Gospels Jesus affirms His equality with the Father. Jesus quite bluntly says of Himself, “I Am”. in the Jewish faith, I AM is a name for God.

the Gospel of John opens with "in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. a few verses later, John writes, “…and the Word became Flesh”.

Just from reading a smattering of the responses and your reaction to those, I see that there is a disconnect.

We don’t get our understanding of the Word of God from Scripture. We get it from the Church. Scripture says:

Ephesians 3:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

You won’t find any explicit statements of the sort you are looking for in Scripture. You will only find those in Sacred Tradition. That is enough for us, because we recognize that Jesus Christ established a Church and commanded that Church to Teach what He commanded. That Church is the Catholic Church. And it is the Catholic Church which wrote the New Testament, based upon the Sacred Tradition of Jesus Christ.

I hope that helps.

Could you please help me out and explain what it would mean for Jesus to be an “actual” son vs. a “virtual” son? I’m afraid I’m not following the question.

we know through faith. if you, atefa, are asking for proof that the Incarnation occurred, you are not going to get it. the Incarnation is a profound mystery. while all available evidence supports It, it is never going to be a scientific theory which experimentation has proven.

that is why Jesus preached that those who believe in Him would receive eternal life. the human mind is finite. it is not capable of containing the infinite.

Sorry. As you see, my mother language is not English and I have problem to explain!

I think it is some think like real vs not real or fact vs fiction.

If Jesus be virtual son of God, then the Father did not real begotten him, He did not really give him birth; like when lord Jesus said “everyone who sins is a slave to sin” (John8:34) He did not really sin is a man who has slavery relation with sinners.

But if it is a actual son of God, it means that God the father really has Paternal relation with him.

I need a refrence that clearly says it was virtually or actually.
