Are you basically asking for scriptural references that the Son is eternally begotten of God? And that Jesus isn’t just a man who was “adopted” into Sonship?

In the passage I posted Jesus revealed His father is not Adam. Unless he’s saying John is greater than himself. Can’t father flesh. Need a whole person to father

There’s no greater authoritative source about God’s Revelation than Scriptures and the Teaching of the Apostles (the Oral Tradition).

How this relationship works (Jesus both God and Son of God) may be beyond our comprehension; we must allow the Holy Spirit (which proceeds both from the Father and the Son) to grant us the ability to assimilate God’s Revelation.

The problem is Faith.

We cannot understand the relationship because it is confounding to extreme.

Jesus is the Word:

1:1a In the beginning was the Word: (St. John)

But not the Word as some purport Him to be (‘God spoke and out came out the Word’); rather, the Word as Scriptures attest that He is… my Spanish Bible version (JB) renders this term as the Verb (el Verbo); this makes much more sense because it denotes Action as in the Creator or Designer:

1:1b and the Word was with God and the Word was God. (St. John)

So when this this come to be, that the Word is God?:

1:1 In the beginning was the Word: and the Word was with God and the Word was God. 1:2 He was with God in the beginning. (St. John)

There was never a time when Jesus, the Word, was not God. It is the reason why Catholic profess that the Virgin Mary is the mother of God–this profession of Faith is not about the Virgin being made into a divinity, far from it. This profession of Faith is about the Word, Jesus, forever existing and remaining God.

There’s that little window shown in the book of Genesis:

26a And he said: Let us make man to our image and likeness:
27a And God created man to his own image: to the image of God he created him: (Genesis 1)

Man was Created in the image and likeness of God–do you see how God expresses Himself in the plural? …and the subsequent verse denotes a singular Unit?

This is the Existence of God: One in Three.

When the Word would Become Incarnate (Jesus) there would be the greatest singularity ever: God would join His Creation; He would become as one of them, in everything but sin.

For this purpose a body, made of flesh and blood, would be required:

10:5 and this is what he said, on coming into the world: You who wanted no sacrifice or oblation, prepared a body for me. (Hebrews)

The Word Became Incarnate (as the passages cited on my first reply):

1:5 God has never said to any angel: You are my Son, today I have become your father; or: I will be a father to him and he a son to me. 1:6 Again, when he brings the First-born into the world, he says: Let all the angels of God worship him. (Hebrews)

The above passage, in my estimation, is the greatest attestation that Jesus, the Incarnate Word, is God and the Son of God.

I think that what you are asking is something akin to how did man think about the atom, something that cannot be seen or felt with the senses, develop theories about it way prior to the invention of the microscope?

It is called Revelation.

What God has Revealed is that Jesus, the Word, when Revealed to the world would be as the Son of God.

This Revelation is made full and plain in the various passages of Scriptures.

Yet, you cannot comprehend any passage of Scripture that demonstrates that because you cannot comprehend how God can be both One and One in three distinct Persons.

That, my friend. is one of the Mysteries of God.

I have offered this before and I offer it to you: consider the Triune God in the composition of water: water in its three states remains H2O–it is interesting that the one element that remains unchanged is water and water is the one element that provides life.

If this is what you are asking, the answer is in the Nicene Creed and the anathemas associated with it at the Council of Nicea.

… And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, of one essence with the Father;

But those who say: ‘There was a time when he was not;’ and ‘He was not before he was made;’ and ‘He was made out of nothing,’ or ‘He is of another substance’ or ‘essence,’ or ‘The Son of God is created,’ or ‘changeable,’ or ‘alterable’— they are condemned by the holy catholic and apostolic Church.
